Just don't join a top end guild and you should be fine. Make sure you stockpile as many consumables and mats for the BoP ones as you can when you are on breaks. I'm the GM and MT of an upcoming raiding guild on the PvE server and I'm making As and Bs in a 15 hour Engineering courseload. The trick is to be a raid logger when it gets hairy and not raid on finals week. If you stockpile consumable stuff, you should be fine in the time you can only raid log.

That's how I found time to play even a little everyday. I noticed that most time I spent on computer during the day, was just browsing Facebook or reading and commenting news, I just thought: I could just as easily change all that to just playing (WoW).

Seriously, how much time you spend on Facebook, where's nothing new 95% of the time. 2-3 times checking the news feed is just enough, at least in my opinion.

There is a triangle.... one tip is WOW, one tip is job/school, the other social life... you can only choose two of the three to be "great" at. If you want all three, you can only be mediocre at two of them whilst being great at one.

Not only does wow destroy your job/school and social life, it also hogs the time that you can spend to play other games (or even other hobbies/interests). For someone like me who works ~40 hours and likes to play other games and do other things, that kinda sucks tbh. Then again, now it isn't that big of a problem since MC and BWL can be easily done in 1-2 days, but sacrifices are to be made when AQ40 and Naxx get released.

Educate yourself in the school of arcane magics, and get a job. I have several openings in the preservation of artifacts field, because I need others to fill in for me when I'm absent, which sadly is quite often.

Playing games all day will get you nowhere.
