As much as I love this server, I have to agree that the GMs sometimes rushes too hastily into permban and it it sad. All for the sake of "swift punishment" and showing "leadership". I am glad they changed their minds because it was the right thing to do. Please let this be a learning experience for the Nostalrius leadership. From the start all I've heard is that they will warn you time and time again for many infractions before they go to the drastic measure of permban, yet they seem to hand out permbans like its candy.

It is quite rediculous.

EDIT: Looking into the story GMs claim these players had several infractions on their accounts already, and had been warned for doing exactly this thing previously. I dont know what to believe anymore.

If they can't get banned, why did they get banned?

Bug abuse / exploit is divided into two categories in our Terms of Use, Minor and Major. Minor bug abuse is a warning, Major bug abuse is an immediate ban. We initially deemed the violation these 3 players did to be Major bug abuse and thus an instant ban. After review, it was decided that this was minor bug abuse and thus they were unbanned. That's all there is to it. Now, two minor bug abuses do equal one major bug abuse, so another incident like this and it's all over.

Honestly anyone who is upset about these guys being unbanned is just salty/jealous. I mean it is pretty obvious that they were doing something wrong, even though it's blizzlike the tubers were meant to be looted by 1 person only.. that being said, receiving a permanent ban over it was definitely overkill. The Nost staff made a good call by reverting the bans, and honestly everyone should be HAPPY about it because unlike some of the previous cases that the playerbase disagreed with(silithus miners, herb spawns etc..) the management team looked into the ban and realized that it should have been a warning. I look at this whole thing as a very clear good sign, and the playerbase should appreciate that the GM team is willing to investigate offenses and hand out appropriate sanctions rather than just banning everyone who does *anything* they disagree with.
+1 to Nostalrius management, definitely gained a little faith in you guys after seeing how you handled this whole event.
