Sorry but no. It's main spec -> of spec. With your logic we should all need on blue 2handers.

it's not his logic. this is actually how things work on a vanilla wow server. epic item drops in dungeons are boe and can be sold on AH. you never know if someone is going to equip or sell it, so you NEED all rare drops in dungeons if there are strangers in the party. this is how it was done in vanilla wow. if you don't like it, make your own group and make your own rules. but i guarantee you everyone will need on any epic anyway cus that is how vanilla wow dungeons are played. sorry to burst your bubble.

you can't argue with facts. you may wish something to be another way, but sadly your wish won't come true.

Sorry to burt your bubble. I don't know if you're going to vendor that blue 2h axe, so eh, i'll roll need mate. Your logic is worth some shit in a bucket. Main spec -> off spec. If not, you're a ninja. Simple. Looking forward to your ninja on a server where you can't change your name. Can't wait to tarnish it.

If you're going to be a ninja, you'll have to live with the consequences. Your shit logic won't help you here.

You are one salty kid. Learn the rules of the server, they won't change for a handful of people. FYI people don't get tarnished for ninja unless its raid loot and even then at most they get blisted from that raid group. See Bustylocks, known ninja, still gets raids going.

Then again, your the type of kid that would turn red and starting yelling if I told you the sky was blue.

Less than a week ago I did BFD. A Staff of the Blessed Seer drops. All of us greeded it, the person that won was then congratulated for his monetary gain.

If you come across as a mature person, sometimes people reciprocate.

you make me laugh and that's why i like you Doom

If its BoP then you only need if you can use it. Most runs assume or state the rules as MS>OS.

If its BoE then everyone Needs unless you are a fool or make a mistake.

If you want to be a nice guy anyone who rolls greed on a valuable BoE should be given a chance to /roll and beat whoever won it with the need roll.

Don't be bad. Don't be a bitch. Don't be a noob. Roll Need on all BoE.

no sense in repeating this anymore. we all know that's how BOE rolls work except for the one special education student in this thread.

This goes for Pristine Diamonds, Travelers Backpacks, Epic BoEs and everything in between. If you feel like being a nice guy and noticed someone Greed rolled, let them try to beat your winning roll with a /roll.

Sorry but no. It's main spec -> of spec. With your logic we should all need on blue 2handers.

If those 2Hs are boe and valuable yes. It's only MS > OS for BoP gear. It's been like this since TBC retail. If The Pendulum dropped i would expect everyone to need it as its worth a substantial amount of gold.

I don't know what backwards Retail server you have been on, but general rule of thumb from Vanilla up to I quit shortly after cata came out and then when I came back for the three weeks of WoD, Need before Greed. That included all gear. If you rolled need on a boe and didn't equip/learn it, you were a ninja. Most realms had a sticky dedicated Ninja thread.

Also the bolded and underlined statement you made... This is Vanilla - Pre-TBC.

Believe it or not people have improved their way of thinking in 10 years..... there's not a single reason on the planet to not roll need on valuable items. If one of the people will equip it then they can ask whoever won the item if they can get the item, WHICH FUNCTIONALLY IS THE SAME DAMN THING as people greeding and the equipping person rolling need. The difference is it makes ninja's 100% impossible.

Logic is hard I know

In that scenario, the person who need rolled the item without needing it has all the power and by the way your word it, giving the item back would be an act of goodwill rather that rule abiding. If people instead put the moment of decision when rolling is done, then it's simply an exercise of pressing: "Will equip this", or "Will sell this". And whoever presses "will equip this" and doesn't actually bind the item to him is easily seen as an offender, whereas in your idea this is sketchier and the responsability is made less clear.

And no, you guys don't think better nor are any more insightful than retail gamers were back in 2005.

Played on Mal'ganis Horde for a year, Kel'thuzad Horde for a year, Illidan Horde for god knows how long. Tichondrius Alliance on and off for a while and Dark Iron Horde from Wotlk till MoP then settled on Tichondrius Horde during SoO.

Every server had the same rules. Perhaps your server may have been backwards.

Edit: I'm well aware this is pre-TBC. I didn't imply this rules only exist during specific expansions lol. These rules have been around for about 8 years, they wont revert back because its a private server.

Has been for 8 years... huh http://mmorpg-info.org/misc/need-vs-greed/ post from 2008.... above is wowwiki on the subject which is updated pretty frequently... what time-space were you in where need meant greed?

Quote from the 2008 forum post:
One person with flawed logic can ruin the system for everyone. They choose need for everything, convinced they are in the right. No, they can’t actually use the armor but they could sell it – and they NEED the cash for upgrades, seeing as the upgrades they want aren’t dropping for them. This type of person doesn’t appear to comprehend that they are making a mockery of the system – if ability to sell an item counts for need, then there is never a reason to choose greed. In addition, I’ve met a few who despite rolling need on every drop somehow believed that if something dropped that was a direct upgrade, the rest of the group would pass. Well, no, not really.
