With regard to the platform, the change which is wished for, it seems to me that where distributed servers are something which does not even exist yet in theory, our goal is to get Nost back up on its feet, with its current code base and current dev team.

This then means Bliz must retract the C&D. That is the demand.

I think we should also add to that, that Nost should from now on require all players to hold a Bliz sub.

So that's the platform;

1. Retract the C&D
2. Nost require all players to hold a Bliz sub

what would stop them from filling it up with microtransactions, cross-realm BGs/LFG/LFR and worse, and other things that would make the game more casual?

Development costs. That's what gives me some hope that some day they will put up a few true legacy servers unencumbered by Battlenet integration and their other modern "improvements" - it'd be far cheaper not to.

It'd be better to have control over this than letting it to hope, i.e. that Bliz don't offer but they do ilcense (or in effect license).

Yeah, the thought of "Activi$ion Vanilla" makes me uneasy. I'd much rather see a licensing agreement with the Nost team.

I think one of this issues is that they are "making an example" of Nost, because they don't want every other server thinking it's okay. You know, the ones that make money, change the game, have godmode etc.

If they would allow a limited license for Nost only, for "Pure Vanilla," that would be great. So, how do we wrap that up into a pretty package to make it attractive to Actiblizz?

As all the people cussing out Blizzard and throwing tantrums, please stop. It just makes Nost look bad. The protest thingy mentioned above won't help either. Let's try to find some real solutions.

They aren't going to do anything out of the goodness of their heart. Their "heart" has been replaced by $. This needs to be a business plan not an emotional outburst, or nothing is going to change.

Just my two copper.
