It is not about relations. Russian law is simply stone age lvl.

According to what standards? The US copyright law that results in approximately 80% of yearly patterns being assigned to corporations, who previously imposed barely-legal contract clauses on their inventors and designers to relinquish any claim to the works they create, while only 20% of them are actually granted to the person that spent his life working for it?

One of the things that will always amaze is how a decadent entity like the 'West' with practically no moral highground of any sort, can snap its fingers and make people believe something is right or wrong. The same fable-like beliefs that there are 'evil dictators' opposed by the shining light of civilized Western democracy and freedom.

British exceptionalism at its best, nothing has changed.

They can shut down WoW retail and still do pretty well with Hearthstone, Diablo, Overwatch, HotS.
They did pretty much the same with StarCraft 2, i.e. sank it completely and nobody cares about it anymore.

The only thing you can do is to boycott all Blizzard's products.

The only way to play vanilla is to host it beyond the legal reach of Blizzard.

That's it.

There is nothing wrong with hoping and standing up for yourself and others. What nonsense you say will not stop those that want legacy servers. Oh and what this smart gamer said...

Its true that you fail if you don't try, but also if your methods are useless to begin with. And if your method is useless like this petition, then you're worse off by "fighting" because you could be spending time doing something more practical and effective, like an Alinsky style protest that would ACTUALLY put pressure on Blizzard to make real changes.

It's all about showing the interest in legacy servers. This petition is a part of that, but not everything. It's also about streamers and youtubers talking about, players tamlking about, blizzard forums and facebook being swarmed with posts about it day in day out. The 200k signatures is just another goal. Blizzard can't keep oin ignoring a shitstorm like this, so it's important to keep the talk about it going.

You're right. Momentum is important but it will also become a drag if it goes too long and people inevitably forget. And I was overly critical and pessimistic. Maybe the petition will change something. Not sarcasm. Although I don't see what, since the decision is still with Blizzard and they've been well aware of the sum of support for while now.
