I honestly don't get the negativity.

I'm pretty sure that if Blizzard does legacy servers they will do it right and if they don't you can just play on private servers like before so honestly one way or the other I don't see it as a bad thing at all.

Then I'm afraid you need to open up your way of thinking a bit. It's much bigger than "they'll just screw it up lol". They also fucked up Retail. Look at the heights that "little meaningless fuckup" reached. Well consider the fact that this time it'll be 10x bigger.

Having Nost endorsement by Blizzard is the best thing for everyone, and although it'll most likely mean we'll have to pay a sub to play on it, I don't think anyone would complain about that. I'd pay a sub and start over from scratch if it came with official support, security, and no possibility of a shutdown. Private servers might be free, but they're usually broken out the ass, run terribly, aren't secure, have little to no support, and can eventually shutdown, taking all your work with it. Official servers would avoid all of these, and be worth paying for.

We could also get some hosted in the US, which would be a dream come true for Americans like myself, who are crippled playing on foreign servers. They don't host in the US because of legal problems, which official backing would totally remove. Regardless of where they hosted here, it would still be a winner for everyone vs playing on something on the other side of the world.

+1 but also hoping for one in EU :) but considering the amount of player 1 realm alone got, i would be suprised if they will only put up one in US (as an example).

check the bolded part andsee why /I'm not worried one way or the other. Having Blizzard offering vanilla wow won't magically make vanilla wow private servers dissapear. Just look up wod and legion private servers. So if they do royaly fuck up you can just go back to private servers without really much consequence in the end.

Besides that I do give blizzard the benefit of the doubt here as it would be beyond stupid of them to try and make vanilla into something completly differently. All that would end up acomplishing for them in the end would be major losses.

if you truly want legacy, 15 bucks a month should not hinder you, unless your a 10 year old and that would be your entire monthly "income" :P

Obvious hint at vanilla servers because of the gear and quality of the picture. However, i've lost 100% faith in Blizzard to do things right, so I don't expect a legacy server to be any different. Although maybe the community or its leaders can convince Blizzard to give us vanilla and leave it alone, which is one of the easiest ideas to understand.

I'd love a wow remake though, in a much better engine with completely different art that looks more epic and realistic as opposed to an N64 game.

You say this as if the sub is a big part of your income? Do you live in Pakistan or some other -stan third world country?

I am asking b/c I went out last night to a strip club. I paid 30 euros at the door to be allowed in and then spent an additional 250 euros on a bottle of Jim Beam bourbon as well as tips to the girls who were sitting at our table.

A sub for Legacy WoW is going to be 13 euros per month. I spend that much money every fucking day for cigarettes and chewing gum.

Epic!

With all that hype they should get it on in the next months. And they should do it god damn right! No pristine bullshit etc.
