I am honestly just bored as hell. Can't find the motivation to level and gear again on a new vanilla / TBC realm or even try out the new changes with retail. Stuck in WoW limbo currently, and other games can't seem to keep my interest like WoW did.

This is the curse that was cast upon me too. Once the retail TBC ended and we saw changes that WOTLK brought with it I was doomed. Too old for Counter Strike, too young for EVE online... nothing left than void for me.

Until I heard about Nostalrius... rest we all know...

It can be disheartening to mustard up the mental strength to start from scratch. A lot of us whom play else where now all had to deal with it and make that decision.

Some easier than others.

Actively raiding you can get that feeling sometimes, as being a MT can put a heavy schedule on you, especially when factoring in having multiple kids, full time job and wife.


The best I can advise, that WoW isn't a job. While setting goals is the best way to keep yourself going, be it 1 level a day, or X amount of dps average, it shouldn't drive you to not want to play in fear of not meeting those expectations. Forcing yourself to meet those goals when you don't have a desire to do so is when the game becomes more of a job than a source of entertainment.


Sometimes you just need a new perspective, or approach. Either don't worry about your exp / hour, or letting somebody else fill your raid roll for the day/week, other things of that nature.

You clearly have some desire to play and fill the void of mentally engaging entertainment, or you wouldn't be here posting/reading. Maybe this time around you should not worry about how fast you level to Pre-raid and kill bosses. Play a class/role you never have before. Swap factions to open up new quest and actually take your time to do them, not skip because exp per hour else where is better.

Either way, I know the feeling, while I overcame it after losing BiS things I worked hard for (and the guildies who helped me) it's just pixles, and the fun game from the experiences and the people you meet along the way.

Blizzcon just feels like an empty promise. Blizzard has shown through their own actions, time & time again how they feel about the community. They are trying to Hype Legion, any distraction to that will be ignored unless it can help their profits somehow. As a publicly traded company, the only thing they will ever care about is the $$$.
I rolled on a couple other servers, didn't like either one - I'm not sure I have time in my life for MMO's anymore, except on an extremely casual basis. I'd like to see the Nost improvements make their way into some other project someday. Nost improvements made WoW a fun experience.

Some part of me doesn't want to start on a new server, because I still believe that they will announce Legacy Realms at Blizzcon this fall. And yes, I know how stupid and naive that sounds. But if they don't, I guess I'll go to K2 or Crestfall

this is exactly how im feeling, tho ive been playing cs:go pretty heavily as a replacement. just hoping blizz announces something at blizcon... anything good or bad. so i can move on lol

Evolve has a ridiculous 10x boost for XP/money going right now. I been bringing home the bacon from my monster hunting.

But I might try out Crestfall at launch. Alexensual, who plans to try out, gave some good reasons why we should in his recent video, which I agree with. Not only does it sound good on paper, like any server you'd try out, but the release date will be after Blizzcon and Legion. This means you get to find out how things went with Blizzard first, and also wait for all of the Legion hippies to play their newest expansion, then quit, which they'll surely do in 1-3 months. I suspect this one will plummet even harder than the last ones, given that the expansion looks like complete ass, doing nothing original, and just offering more of what everyone already hates.
