I am not the smartest person here.
I am fairly certain that they have saved the database right before the whole announcement because of things like this happening.
And I would definitely want my character back. I have played since the first hour of Nost until it's last, and have a lot of good memories and effort put into my character. I have enjoyed the whole progress of the server from it's release of PvE and PvP content. I just feel like this is a long break from WoW that HOPEFULLY will continue soon. We all just took a break right before the release of AQ20/40 and will continue on, right guys?
That being said, I would expect a new PvP server being setup since after the major news of Nost shutting down, the news of a ''vanilla'' WoW server that had thousands of players hit even old WoW players that have never even heard of Nost until then, but always enjoyed the good old times. I have read a lot of comments on these news articles about people wishing they had known about the server beforehand so they could have played on Nost. So if Nost actually re-opens, it would bring a wave of new players which would require a new server and it would be only fair to them to start fresh just like everybody else.
I haven't been hyped for Blizzcon for years. Just hoping for any news regarding legacy servers, even if they likely will not talk or mention it. Then my eyes will be glued on Nost forums right after Blizzcon for any news regarding the 2 lines of the latest announcement. One can only hope.
