There is something we call the Streisand Effect - in short, it had to do with an unflattering photo of Barbra Streisand which got out onto the wild west of the early internet. In trying to suppress the photograph, her agents unintentionally ended up guaranteeing its spread onto the internet, as people passed it around widely however they could ahead of any takedown attempts, and it all started with them going after one guy.

Blizzard basically dropped the hammer on 100,000 people, all at once, and what we're witnessing, I think, is seeing the Streisand Effect blown up to 100,000 times the size we usually do. I think Blizzard has absolutely no idea what it's started here and are going to come to sorely regret it.
