Not sure what to say... having found MaNGOS on what Nostalrius is based and having a century of my life's work invested in this project, the community, everything, teaching hundreds of developers about the client, internals etc. I am now insanely pissed that the Open Source community providing everything that Nostalrius is based on is being left out.

This feels like a giant betrayal of all kinds.

I don't know. I know I contribute to an open source emulation project because I don't feel the need to massage my own ego. So, I don't care who Blizzard go to. So long as the result is that they do the right thing.

If they don't then I'll just keep chipping on at trying to improve the open source project in my spare time, as I did before.

Why would they come to you?

What about other private servers with large populations (I don't need to name them).

What about the other p-server off-shoots? Yes they were all branched from Mangos. But, they've also built shedloads more on top of that base.

There's no point getting upset because they didn't come to you. Best just to watch and see what this turns into. Something rubbish like "Pristine servers" or, one of the better options that are out there. In the meantime, get on with what you're doing.

The only good part of this post is them saying they are in talks with the Nost devs, I hope this is true. But everything else is brilliant PR work by Blizzard. They are essentially saying the same thing they have in the past, and are using the pristine idea as a deflection and change of topic to get people talking about that instead of legacy, in hopes the legacy hype will die. Do you guys notice how many people are now talking about why or why not they want to play on a pristine server? I would say its working

They just said "NO" to legacy server and a "Maybe" for this shitty idea of legion server without heirlooms and dungeons finders. This is not what we want.

A pristine server is nothing but shit. Is the difficulty the only thing good in Vanilla? HELL NO. Is the difficulty the only problem in WoD? HELL F***** NO!

Pristine idea is just to split the Legacy community. But the fact is here: I have no choice to play on private servers, like Kronos now.
At least, they said they also want a Legacy server, but its "too difficult" to do. Cant some volunteers Dev do the hard part?

At least they're talking to the staff, honestly this pristine servers is still a win in my book because they basically admitted all the things that made the game shit. We're a step closer to winning guys, don't lose hope.
