Since lots of players play there due to the lag and overpopulation on the pvp server, releasing a fresh one would actually decrease the population on the pve server. It now peaks at 3k on eu evening, but in the worst case the rerolling would be drastically noticeable on the population.
Nost would be paying for a > 1500 pop server then while we have to pay for our own new server.
Anyway, i would pay for it since i really love pvp but cant stand the overpop. Its just no fun anymore.
Well yes, most people want to play Vanilla WoW on a PvP server, it's just more fun, and of course they'll jump at the possibility of playing on a server with another PvP server with a decently-sized population. It's a damn shame that the devs decided to have the 2nd server be a pve one, especially since they saw that the interest for a pve one was pretty damn low to begin with. I think that if there would have been a moderately advertised poll on what type the 2nd server should have been (pve/pvp), the result would have been different.
I play on the PVE server as well as the PVP...I can assure you the majority of the people playing on the PVE are not their because of the lag on the PVP realm they are there because they dont want to be ganked and want to enjoy the experience without the hassle. I doubt many would jump maybe 500-600 at most which woudlnt hurt the population too bad considering the max pop of vanilla during the blizzard days was 2.5k..
I for one am glad they made a pve realm when people asked for one it brought people to the community that otherwise would not have came. I enjoy both realms for different reasons as well. I love to pvp on the pvp realm but some nights I just want to relax and quest without the drama so I play on the PVE realm.
I would love to see a 2nd pvp server happen because I agree that the first is severely overpopulated.
