I've never said for free, avoiding monthly subscription fee and taking other solutions does not mean that Blizzard will run these servers for free, I've just shared my suggestions. And for all of yours questions I have one rethorical question:"Why is Blizzard still releasing patches and still running their servers for online gaming for almost all of their games (Warcraft 3:Frozen Throne , Diablo 2 and 3, Starcraft 1 & 2) and yet you don't pay subcription fee for these mentioned games?"

Because these games were released and sold under a completely different payment method than wow was. When you purchase wow, you simply rent your license, you don't own your own physical copy. Neither would you do with classic wow. Not only that, but the server cost for a wow server is a completely different league than any of the other games you mentioned.

So I guess if it's a problem that blizzard offers their other services for free, we could all send them a mail asking them to charge for those services as well. Seriously though, be happy that they are at least giving something back to the community without charging for it.

@ spurnz
No I'm not very young and I'm not trolling and money is not the issue for me, I'm only talking out of principles and not out of lack of money and I'm not talking about that these games should have suddenly subscription fee, no they should not and nor should official vanilla realms because these official vanilla realms are in the same position as are these mentioned blizzard's games.

@Tinkertown
I understand your passion about vanilla wow but mate you are then obsessed by it if you would pay additional fee above normal monthly fee in order to play it :D

Tinkertown wrote:The OP is the stereotypical vanilla privateserver player personified. Wow. Well I'm glad that this thread has demonstrated so very clearly how this type of player isn't in any way shape or form representative of the community as a whole. I'd personally be willing to buy legion, pay the normal subfee and an additional fee beyond that to play a vanilla server. Money isn't a problem, the non-existence of a legit way to play vanilla is.

The kind of player that the OP represents have played on pirated servers since the game launched. I dare say that the majority of the nostalrius community played private because there was no other freaking option.

@ EyeofTruth
I am surroanded by legacy wow fanatics who would sell their own souls to devil in order to play official vanilla wow :D

@ ForReaper_
You sound like it's 2004 when prices for hardware, gear and maintance for servers were a lot more expensive comparing with state of today. Mate how many times do I need to repeat my own words? Guild Wars 2 for example is being constantly developed and you don't pay subscription fee for it to play it and on the other hand you have 10 years old game and the game which does not require adding new content and developing because the game is finished and don't forget that we already payed for that game and we payed (including myself) monthly fee for that period of vanilla era and you think, by having all these reasons on your mind, that it would be perfectly normal to pay monthly fee for it, again! Comon dude, even blind man can see the obvious diffrence.

So, go play guild wars then? There's a reason why it's f2p - it's shit and no one would play it otherwise.
We get this once in a lifetime opportunity to play the game we love, officially and more or less bug free, and you're suggesting this garbage.

Also, suggesting that they restore the characters that we had on Nost is the most retarded thing one could ask of blizzard.

Guild Wars 2 shitty game!? Haha!

It is retarded to be totally non intersted for the future of your characters and for their wiping while knowing that you were playing on them for over a year but I personally could suck it up if Blizzard releases their own official vanilla realms because I know that would be the last time when my chararcters will be wiped.

I must admit that I am surprised by reactions here. Players behaive like they are cheering and voting for monthly fees. Really, really strange.

Apparently, the strange one is you. It's absolutely normal to pay for a good service (in fact, MMO is a type of service). We pay because we appreciate their work. The company also needs money to operate. Exact amount of subscription fee is something to be discussed, but nothing wrong with ppl willing to pay for it. Remember, this is NOT an offline game, you can't just pay-once-play-anytime. There needs to be someone to pay for server hosting.
