Well I assume there are at least still about 4 million active players.
Anyway, next Blizzcon will be interesting, let's see what happens :D.

No, we don't. This petition is not about Nost legalization. It's about to draw the B's attention. Srsly, it's silly to think that ppl around you are idiots. Did you actually see the petition text? :D

Ok, then what? We get their attention then forget about it??
Who cares about getting Nostalrius back though?

And we already have their attention. Nostalrius went viral.

In fact, the petition's purpose is now to open an official Vanilla (Legacy) server. Nostalrius will not come back.

Why? Refer to my initial statement but replace "reverse C&D" with "Open a Blizzard server". Although I don't know why anyone would want Blizzard to open a server as opposed to allowing Nostalrius 2.0. Seems pretty stupid knowing Blizzard won't do it right and probably charge money for it. Especially since they don't deserve to be paid any more than they already have for vanilla. And Blizzard server is even less likely due to the potential losses compared to allowing a private server to run. So that reduces the effectiveness of the petition even more, assuming it was even effective to begin with.

Will we ever learn that begging an enemy doesn't work? Probably not because alot of people are morons that support things like socialism without even knowing it, like trump supporters. Not that other candidates are any better. And I know there's plenty of smart people, but its a realistic observation based on history and the behavior of the general population. Youtube cringe compilations is a perfect example. Although alot of it is based on diet because junk food literally makes us idiots.

I've said it before, but if Blizzard opens a legacy server, it will be based on a decision they already made regardless of whether or not we have an extra 50k signatures.

Sorry, but i see here none logical argument. You just gave here your feeling about this petition. Good for you. Blizzard should win a lot of money with such a server. This is a logical argument. We keep fighting until Blizzard listen to us.

"Blizzard should win a lot of money with such a server" isn't an argument lol, ironically. Its a conclusion without a premiss. But you're right that alot of my post was just my opinion. Despite the fact that arguments can be derived by thinking about my claims because reasons exist for what I said even if I didn't mention it. Like the fact that a Blizzard server costs money and other resources, which is why there's a potential for losses if the server flops or other reasons.

I'd argue like this.

There 100% is a way for Blizzard to make money on a Legacy server. And that would be to take the Nostalrius team up on their offer. The server, quite frankly, was good enough.

From that alternative there are an endless number of alternatives with pros and cons. Some clearly profitable, others more doubtfully so all the way to the downright awful alternatives. If I could have nothing else then Nostalrius rebranded would do more than fine for a very manageable cost. Especially since they could (and should) start the server all over as to not encourage our previous evil breach of the ToS, collecting monthly fees all the way.

It's almost impossible to not make money in such a scenario since it involves the #1 rule for a close to sure thing. Positive cash flow at (virtually) day 1.
