wheren't all old MMO's a sub fee? Going back to ultima or whatever? i guess people are sorta spoiled by the new mmo's eh? Why not play them. Although i agree i'm not a fan of Subs. It comes down to, do you want vanilla or wod? Because Wod ISNT A SUB you can get wow tokens. Ey there you go, enjoy yourself.

I would happily pay a monthly fee for a Legacy server if it could ensure me to play without any Cash Shop !

For about a decade now, I'm used to the Free-to-Play system that I saw in numerous MMO and all the time it was too much inclined to Pay-to-Win, widening the power gap and imbalance between players. The irony of it is that players were incited to pay more than a Pay-to-Play game but without the quality evoked by the model.

Though it is still very early, ATM I am just hoping for a YES from Blizzard by the end of the year.

Whats not to understand here? THere are TONS of high quality MMOs that are free to play. Hard to justify spending money every month on some other MMO when so many available for free. Especially when you spend money on outdated content such as legacy WoW

Go play those then. clearly if theres free high quality mmos out there you have what you want so go for it champ and dont ruin this legacy thing with your microtransactions.

Agree with OP and from what I've discussed with friends who used to play oldschool WoW, they all share the same opinion. It's just stupid to pay a monthly fee for content that's 10+ years old. I would gladly pay for new content that's as good as vanilla or tbc, but we all know that's not going to happen cause Blizzard makes casual, mobile-tier games nowadays. So yeah, if you want to support their laziness and greed go for it. I'd rather wait for the next private server (Corecraft 2020 Kappa).

TL:DR

A 2006 or older car should be free. Disney should give away copies of StarWars 1-6. Picasso paintings should be given away.

Subscription fee will probably be a fine line to make it worthwhile for Blizzard to implement. Remember, they are a business and their goal is to make money.


If you really want Legacy Servers to succeed, you better get on board with paying a subscription.

They don't owe you anything, you got exactly what you paid for. If you don't like it, go play those free games you keep talking about.
