Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I have a gripe at the moment with the server as i have witnessed an extraordinary kind of answer to a question about loot redistribution (for example in my case a Friend accidently needed and he himself wrote the ticket to redistribute it to me).

Altough one problem comes to mind with that.
WoW was already a glorious experience for most players but what gave it it's cutting Edge was the helpfullness of the Gamemasters and the fair and just Rules of Blizzard.

For example: Loot redistribution was a common thing as misttakes happened and was later even solved by letting players trade BoP gear for 1 Hour if they were in the same Party together (or Dungeon ID for LFG).
But how can you call yourself a Blizzlike experience if one of the cornerstone of the playerexperience is just vastly different?

It's two issues -

One it's a hassle to the GMs as it requires extra man power

Two it requires GMs having the ability to give items to players. All it takes is one corrupt GM for server drama to happen.

I don't think people appreciate how big of a deal this can be. I'm not saying my story below can or will happen here, but it is something the GMs/Admins needs to be safeguarding.

A few years ago there was a private server called ScriptCraft that gained popularity on Reddit (that's how I heard about it) and it actually was pretty neat. Not very blizzlike, but it had a good population and it was fun. Eventually one of the GMs went rogue and one day he started giving random players level/stat boosts (I logged in and was level 160 with an unfathomable amount of HP/Mana), GM powers, etc, and it wasn't caught for awhile (maybe a day or two, memory is a little fuzzy). To revert the changes back to normal, the server was rolled back 3 days because he was apparently doing it very slightly at first and finally just started throwing it out everywhere. The backlash was massive as all the legit players and guilds lost a lot of progress, gold, etc. The server was effectively dead from that point on.

To prevent a Drama is to give strict rules and act on them. its not like you can't remove items from a player.

My gripe isn't this alone. What tickles my tummy is a server calling itself blizzlike after falling deeper into the slums of bad managment and not being blizzlike at all anymore.

Many players are observing this and many other are leaving because of it, the rest that stays is mostly the cesspool of people joining the hype (and that have no idea whats actually blizzlike) and the chinese who are becoming more and more of problem , but nost gives apparently no shit about it.

And don't come with "but it's free, dont complain". No matter the cost of a product, you should never advertise it as something it isn't (anymore) ..that is if you want to stay true to yourself.

Do you have any evidence to back up your claim?

It's a bummer when it happens for sure, but is it reasonable to demand the same kind of customer service from a small team of volunteers making this game possible as from a big company that actually made a profit of the game?

I really don't think so. Nostalrius, content wise, is as blizzlike as possible but this doesn't change the fact that Nostalrius is not Blizzard. This is not a blizzlike-or-not issue with the game, this is customer service, and Nostalrius can't afford, or doesn't want to offer you the same customer service that blizzard could.

If you think that's unfair or are mad about it, cry me a river I guess.

Your proof is both in the forum and generals/world chat if you observe a bit.

Also most of the current grwoth is chinese mostly.

Even the content isnt Blizzlike as it is. There are many good examples starting with:
- Stratholme not working nearly as intended (this is part of the broken scripts most likely)
- The "Spirit of Aquementas" changed to its modern form 4 Patches before it should have happened, which is a very big slap across the face for many healers.
- the "Rhok'delar" quest having its 4 Demons have a respawn time fo exactly 7 Hours (instead of 4-7 Hours as it Blizzlike) and not lowering the respawn time since there are practically more than double the players on the server than it would be on a retail server (which isnt blizzlike too but i dont have a gripe with that if thats how they want to handle it)
- "Mind Control" still disconnecting at random on cast

and many more. I mean if they change the advertising to "not quite blizzlike" i will shutup but since I will then know what to expect.
