Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Three horde named Ofairy, Wippo and Sorc were able to kill me on the PVE server, i though that this was a friendly server. Am i wrong or are they somehow cheating? it was quite disturbing since they did it on an escort quest.

It's not a friendly server. Every horde out there would gank you if they could. Well, I think.

PvE server is indeed not friendly if given the chance. Many, many players on it simply want a combination of relaxing leveling and group content that isn't interrupted by open and unbalancing ganking.

Tons of players are every bit as pvp loving as those on the pvp server. If you are red ... you are dead. Sadly not many choose to openly go red in zones (like in retail vanilla where many did) and no optional pvp quests exists here. Also the aoe flagging still exists which is often exploited.

My dream is that a vanilla Wow experience is created where player toons are level scaled per zone so near even level pvp could exist (zones are typically a 5-10 level quest spread ... still far better than a level 60 with an inferiority complex stomping on a level 10 over and over). I would bet that a true pve server's population would drop in half instantly (and same with the pvp server) as many players want open world pvp but they also want a fair and challenging fight instead of level 60's ganking them.

Wow should have evolved into such a game ... preserving the vanilla mechanics and game design and offering fair game play. This should be the ultimate goal of a private server but I have not seen one try it yet.

Tons love Wow open world pvp. Tons hate the level discrepancy ganking. Tons love Wow pve servers. Tons hate the total lack open world pvp. It doesn't take a genius to figure out a compromise is wanted.

Well, it's extremely obvious that Horde want balanced world PvP. If ganking happens it's because boredome sets in when Alliance max level toons on the PvE server fail to respond to a blatant challenge. Even then there are honorable Horde world PvPers who refuse to gank even when provoked. The ingame honor system, which doesn't reward ganking with honor, does its job very well there.

I see this as becoming an increasing issue as more and more PvP-oriented players flee the overcrowding on the PVP server and roll toons on the PvE server (which is itself starting to become overcrowded as a result, with nearly 3,000 logged in as I type this). The fact is that Nostalrius is a victim of its own success, as demand has far exceeded supply and the servers are getting to be like the slave chamber of an Egyptian pyramid.

there is the bug if you right click on him you turn pvp. the fixed version should be that if you right click onhim AND attack then it should turn you into pvp. so this is probably the confusing part

Man, you PVE guys really just... How did you survive wow before PVE servers? Also don't buff or heal people that are flagged for it'll flag you.

Huh, i never knew that myself thanks for the info Though all world PVP is avoidable on the PVE server, just assume if you have the 5 min flag you'll get ganked. Take a break for 5 mins if you get it Np.
