I know that this is a free project and things progress as they do.

And I know there's a multinode solution coming.

But after an hour of searching a group and traveling to instance, dying to ganks and setting this up, first pull and DC. What does one think the feelings will be? "It's only the rush hours." Well some of us can play only at certain time.

And I think there's an instantly available, fairly easy solution to this problem, which is migration.

Yes the realms have different content open, yes it's a hassle, well so is this constant DCing.
I am (and I'm not alone in this one) willing to go buttnaked no skills to the PVE realm for this shit to stop. I could spend these hours of gathering groups and DC disband to level my skills and getting gear in the PVE realm.

So send willing people buttnaked and skill-less to the other realm. Then the load will even up, population will even up and everyone can get a decent gaming experience. Make it so that it's available only for a certain timewindow, let's say 5 days. Make it so that there is a certain time of the day when these migrations happen - this will make it more manageable for you.

And after the migration the situation will be something like this 2k + 1/3*12k = 6k for pve realm and 8k for pvp.

As long as the different realms are on different patches there will be no realm transfers.

there is not and will not be character transfer between PvP and PvE realms as long as they are on different patches. If we ever would consider this, it would happen only when both realms are on the same patch.

I feel with your frustration about disconnecting often. I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't suffer from much lagg and DC. My though is that I actually suffer just as much as other people but my expectations is in proportion with playing on a free private server with 12k players online.

I know that they said that there will be no trasfers and I know the reasons why - atleast on practical level. What happens behind the scenes might be more difficult.

But my point is that it makes no sense to transfer accounts from more advanced patch to less advanced patch IF you let them keep things from the more advanced patch.

Now I know it's possible to get rid of the gear - I can even do it myself. Then there are skills, patterns, recipes etc which are not yet available in the less advanced patch - just do as you did with gear.

So atleast on practical level, there is no reason why transfer wouldn't be possible.
I could use technical explanation why it's impossible.

Playing with 12k people is amazing, I mean it's a great feat for the server to have such vibrant and lively population. But it's also it's greatest hinderance. And at the moment it kind a makes the whole experience just extremely frustrating and totally not enjoyable.

Anyhow I wish there's a solution soon, either one. The multinode thing looks good, but I've understood that it's hard and may take time and has not been done at all or only in few cases - all the best luck with that.

Meanwhile, could I get my naked butt to the pve realm?

Also: in the begining there was no choice, you had to play on pvp realm. Now there is a choice. Could I make it now?

here's my advice, play on PVE if you want to PVE with less DCs. play on PVP if you want to PVP. it's as simple as that.

Not annoyed at all, I make about 50g every server reset.

That is exactly what I'd like to do, but 1.5 characters in it's a time issue also. Leveling takes a while.

Quests might be the problem and reputation. Attunements etc. But don't know if they can't be reseted too?
