Did you remember, last year, during February month, every day we were waiting for the release of this server ?
And then, did you remember, saturday february 28th at 18h (for europe), the server opened.
Yes, there were some stability problems, the forum was on fire, but Daemon was here with his famous mechanic tools, and resolved them during the night, so that about 4000 people could connect during the first night.
4000 people doing race to level 60. It was amazing. Durotar was overcrowded. Grinding mobs in durotar was even faster than doing quests, because of the pack of 15 people waiting for every named mob relative to a quest. We had to group for the quests, and then pack around the repop spot of the mob, and then right click and click and click, just to have a chance to be the guy clicking the first so that you catch the aggro of the mob for your group.
And about grinding mobs, every boar was rare. When you catch a boar you are lucky. The only "fast" way to go to level 10 was grinding mobs in some spots where there is no quest to do. I never did that before, did you ?
The first day everyone played a lot of time. Sol played about 20h non stop (first lvl 20). Whitekidney was not so far behind. And when you leave Durotar, and then the Barrens, you were so happy to leave all of low-level people behind you, to go to other lands, with less people. I felt this for all the zones till about lvl 35.
And then it was awesome. When you are the only character in a zone (like Feralas), knowing that there are 300 people in the Barrens, you feel calm. You know that some characters in other zones at the other side of the world are farming like you. Every hour you have some people whispering you to encourage you.
During this time, you had some *big* world PvP fights (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IMdGCqNbYg). Nostalrius' world was alive.
After reaching 60, doing world PvP was awesome. You know, having 40 characters level 20 in redridge mountains hitting you and finally killing you

And then, the first raids. GRIZZLY, Phoenix, NOPE, ... PvE began. And continued, till today. And there are more and more people wanting to play on the server.
I didn't play so much after reaching lvl 60, but I continue reading sometimes the forum, seeing that the server continues to evolve, to advance. Now we have more than 10k people playing regularly on the PvP server, and having fun discovering a new time the world of vanilla, and speaking with nice people.
Congrats to all of the dev team, special thanks to Viper and Daemon. What you did is fucking awesome.
And you, what do you remember about Nostalrius' launch ?
