Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Why people claim nostalrius is like wow vanilla ?

I dont think that is very true, i've been watching a lot of steams lately, and every stream i've watch seem like MC and BWL are being cleared way too easy with blue geared players.

raggy for example i did not see him immerse even ones he (like all other bosses) dies way to quick, i remember back in vanilla those bosses where hard, they also took alot longer to kill, Raggy needed a group with semi geared players and fire resistance gear.

I saw a steam yesterday of onyxia being killed by 20-15 mans, that's also something that was hard to do, and you would need people with bwl/aq gear to do, and they did it no problem.

i dont know, to me it doesnt feel like vanilla wow.

the game itself is old, everyone knows the tactics and what gear to use

it isn't very unlikely that one of today's pre-raid geared players deal more damage than a full MC geared player back in the days, simply because they know what they are doing and know what gear to actually use

i'd recommend you to watch some old movies and see how the players were playing

Whats weird the bosses do have the correct amount of hp.. so something is wecky ..

It's almost 12 years, you most certainly don't remember it as accurately as you believe.

Anyway the one change from original vanilla that is in no way related to general player expertise / skill is that we are using a 1.12 client with 1.12 talent trees. This is slightly favorable. Most of the difference comes from players being much less bad though.

Well i dont know. i am disappointed i remembered vanilla so epic and hard. nostalrius make it feel like today's expansions are more difficult then vanilla.

bah, maybe its impossible to re experience that times.

Players weren't very skilled back then.

The game was new, and so were the players. They died more often than we do now.

Their PC's couldn't run the game as well as ours can now - so their screens wouldn't freeze due to them not being able to handle 40m raiding.

Also mana management (using lower ranked spells) wasn't that well known back then so people went OOM very often

MC + BWL as well are easier as back then since the talents and spells are at patch 1.12.1 already, resulting in higher dps + heals

A guild raid where everyone have pre-raid bis, full enchants and full consumables will kill rag before the first dive.

2005:
- Noone used pre-raid bis gear. Warriors in valor gear etc.
- Noone used addons (bigwigs, decursive etc)
- Noone knew how to spec efficiently.
- Noone stacked consumables
- Noone used optimal enchants.
- Noone knew the tactics and mechanics of the bosses.
- Most people who played wow had never played an MMO before.

2016:
- Pre-raid bis is required by most guilds.
- Bigwigs is required by most guilds
- Class leads of most guilds will make sure people dont have a shitty spec.
- Consumables are required by most guilds.
- Optimal enchants is required by most guilds.
- Most people know the tactics.
- Most people have played several MMOs before.

TLDR: There server is like vanilla. The people is not. Vanilla people where complete and utter shit noobs.

In 2005, after clearing MC, people were farming it as easily

You can still make the content more epic/challanging by attempting speedruns.
