I have always played Mage. Suggestions for other classes?

I leveled an undead mage on Nostalrius last year, but it was deleted because I quit for a time. I thought I would return to Alliance, because it's what I played during retail vanilla, but I want to explore other classes. I'm considering basically any class besides Rogue or Mage (leveled a Rogue on a different vanilla server a few years ago). I was thinking about Warrior and Warlock, partly because the classes seem fun and partly because of the class quests they have which I never experienced. Any tips?

Literally the first line says I leveled a mage. But I also forgot to mention that I've played mage on retail from Vanilla and every expansion since.

Warrior is really fun, but u have to give him a lot of time.

Very complete class in PVE & PVP, but hard leveling!

Warrior might be best, especially since you'll have an opportunity to fill a new role (tanking) if you want.

You didn't mention it, but I'd also suggest trying a healing class (maybe Priest if you want something slightly similar to a mage). Healing is vastly different from dps and tanking so especially in later levels it should feel like a unique experience.

I'd actually suggest playing Druid. Why? Because you can fill many roles, and in the process, experience the essence of many classes.

Bear: Warrior
Cat: Rogue DPS
Oomkin: Caster
Druid: Healer/Caster
etc.

Does it still happen that if you take a break they delete your characters?! how long were you away for?

I have to disagree with this simply because whilst a druid can "fill many roles", they're outshined in those roles by the rest of the classes
Warrior > Bear
Rogue > Cat
Mage/Lock > moonkin
Paladin/Priest > resto

and the majority of guilds on the server will not accept a bear/cat/moonkin unless you're best mates with the guild leader because it's not considered viable atm
