So am I to understand...

That based on this post by Pottu:

Pottu wrote:Please provide video or screenshot evidence or at least names of actual players and server date/time when these abuses happened. Just listing a bunch of guild names is not enough.

As for the rules, both minor and major bug abuse have been specifically mentioned in the Terms of Use since Day 1.

The GM team.

Players will get retroactively banned for something that is blizzlike?

Songflowers, once cleansed, lasted 25 mins and anyone could click on them until they despawned. The buff was later changed so players over 61 and over could not get the buff. I'm currently searching for official sources but much like many other vanilla things there are little to no patch notes about something that wasn't bugged or changed.

I don't know how root tubers used to work so I have no idea if looting multiple is blizzlike or not but multiple people getting songflower definitely was blizzlike.

In any case. That doesn't really matter. What matters is the potential for half the server and 80% of every guilds raid to get retroactively banned for something blizzlike.

If Nost doesn't want multiple songflower buffs going out at once that's fine. But tell us. There is no way we could POSSIBLY know that blizzlike things for some reason aren't ok on this server because France. "Shouldn't use it because it's too good to be true." No. Just no. The actual plant is bugged on Nost.

Not to mention that if Nos decides to stick with their current stance, this would mean that people could actively grief-ban others by reporting them for this shit.

Slipry's and Harm's posts about other guilds indicated that everyone does this and they even posted screenshots. However, they did not report anyone for it, they just tried to make it public. Because even in the eyes of the biggest raging autist on these forums that got completely fucked over it is still unfair to actually go out of your way and report random people for this trivial mechanic.

Well in this case 3 guys got banned for doing totally blizzlike stuff. so to be fair everyone or quite much everyone in any top or mediocre guild has been "abusing major bug". so i guess they start to hand out bans quite soon otherwise rest of community gets special treatment in this "bug abuse" case. Nost had alot chances to explain whats going on, but they decide lock threads and give bold answers.

So, I've been searching around for evidence of the Songflower remaining up for 25-minutes so others can click the buff. This is what I've found:

You can then use the salve to cleanse the corrupted plants that spawn at certain set locations around Felwood. A cleansed plant gives you a reward and then can not be interacted with for a while. 25 minutes after a cleansing, you (or any other player) can harvest the plant again without using salve. Eventually, the plant will despawn or respawn as a corrupted plant.

There aren't nearly enough of these corrupted plants around and the respawn rate is long. I've been running around for 40 minutes from spot to spot where the plants are supposed to be and haven't found one that still corrupted yet.

why?

why would you care if they are already cleansed? just click on it and get your loot. it saves you from having to use your cleaner on it..

You get a decent buff from the Songflower after you heal it: +15 to all stats for 60 min. You can go back to the same flwoer and renew it as well (not sure how long it stays uncorrupted, but it was up nearly an hour last I checked).

Fun side-fact. Juju's should still be Horde only buffs and not obtainable by Alliance until Patch 1.10 it seems. I wont confidently say that for sure, but I did come across a couple of readings with dates pointing back to March and April of '06.

More evidence that it remained up after being cleansed. Is this enough proof? Probably not.

You can also do a quest which does not require the Beacon.
Salve via Disenchanting (1 Lesser Nether Essence).
This does of course not require you to turn in Essences disenchanted from items dropping in Felwood – any Lesser Nether Essence will do. When you have stockpiled some salves, you run around to the different plants. Remember that after it is cleansed, it can be harvested several times before it needs to be cleansed once more. In other words, you probably won’t have to cleanse all that often. I haven’t kept track of this myself, but supposedly Whipper Root requires 3 salves to cleanse. Night Dragon requires 4 salves. Windblossom and Songflower both requires 2 salves.

The respawn time on every plant is 25 minutes. This mod records the time u pick the plant and broadcasts to u whenever it is about to respawn again, so u can make your way to it again and pick it up. If it's corrupted, u need to cleanse it with salves, if it isn't, (you return after 25 minutes of picking it up, it will stay cleansed for a short period of time) then u can just pick it up.

I don't know if root tubers worked like that in vanilla or not so I can't comment on whether they should be banned or not. It does seem like a very severe penalty.

Songflowers, however, are bugged on Nost and players have to do countdown click to get the buff when they should just be able to leisurely get it. If nost doesn't want this for whatever reason that's fine. But they need to tell us or disable the plants because it is Blizzlike, NOT a bug that blizz just didn't feel like fixing at the time and no one should be banned retroactively, currently, or in the future for it.

Essentially, it should be. At least going by Nostalrius's logic of players not reporting a bug when its not a bug or rather not knowing its a bug because they didn't script it correctly (whether it be Blizzlike or Nostlike) in the first place.

Did that even make sense? Probably not. So tired right now...

Anyways, I'm not going to bug track any of this seeing as I have four or five tickets open already which some haven't been addressed for 3-weeks now. So, someone else will have to do it if you think it's enough evidence to see implemented.

More evidence :

Ravni wrote:The Nihilum world first KT kill had songflower on the entire raid (along with literally every other world buff/consume possible of course). Multi-buffing songflower was standard procedure for all the top guilds back then.

Here's another guild commenting in Sept 2006 about their pre-buffing before first KT kill:

"Ya, 2x 1% wipes...go and get every buff you can get Tongue well no onyxia or nef cuz the heads were already up..so we went 2 felwood ;p managed to get the whole raid buffed at the same songflower. Fly 2 ogrimmar get a couple of zanza's + zg buff hand out new titans too everyone. HS too lhc get the north tower buff + use all other pots so we go in straight away."

http://www.andraste-guilde.com/index.php?topic=3997.15

If you do some google searching on songflower you can quickly see that this was a very common practice. So according to the retards on this forum, the entire Nihilum guild should have been banned for SERIOUS EXPLOIT (which allowed them world first kill!).

Pottu wrote:Varth is correct - countdown clicking is a clear sign that the players were aware that this was an exploit. The item in question was meant to give a buff to a single person. Abusing lag to gain that buff for multiple characters at the same time is exploiting.
