Trade gold from horde to ally

by Shaman990 » Tue Mar 22, 2016 12:23 pm

Hey guys, I want to switch factions.
But I currently have ~100g on my Horde characters, is there a way to transfer that gold?

I know that it isnt possible with the normal ways, can someone offer help?

Let a friend that you trust make an Alliance character, get your Hordie with the gold to Booty Bay and let your Alliance friend go to Booty Bay aswell.

Be there at the same time, go to the Neutral Auction House and let your Alliance friend put something worthless on that AH for 100g. You buy it with your Hordie and now your Alliance friend has about 75g after the AH cut.
Let your friend trade you that gold to your new Alliance character.

Done.
.. in purgatory until a new vanilla pvp realm is opened.

Make another account run an alliance to BB but 6 slot bag up for 100g, go on main account with horde on it. Buy bag for 100g, go back on other account send 100g to your alliance character on main account.

ez gold transfer

You've got 2 options.

If you've got an Alliance friend who can help you out.
spend your 100g on sellable mats that have none or very low AH deposit costs, Large brilliant shards for example.
Do a /who Winterspring/Tanaris/Stranglethorn 1-20 on both factions to check for bots, low level rogues with names that contains a lot of weird characters are 10/10 times bots. If there are any of them in the zone you're in then take off your gear and kill them till they quit or if you're a rogue/hunter then kill them and vanish/FD and do your business before they get back to their corpse, if they're in another zone or you can't kill them then postpone.

Make sure the Bid/Buyout price is the exact same on the stuff you put up, so your friend can instantly buy it simply by clicking Bid instead of Buyout->Accept. In very rare cases people bot from their mains, so make sure you test with 1 shard first.

The other option is moving a lvl1 alliance char to booty bay and posting your starter food on the AH for 100g and buying it from your horde char. This method is obviously safer, but you're gonna end up paying the 15% AH cut.

Yeah i'd defiantly do the safe method like we both described, neutral AH is pretty much getting sniped 24/7 for cheap deals.

Is it legal if, per example, me and a friend need 100 gold on the opposite factions so I give him 100g on my faction and he gives me 100g on his?

Yes. The rules only state you cannot buy/sell gold. That's purely trading.

Why would you use friends or test if there are bots when transferring gold through neutral auction house? Not like anybody else is going to buy your apple for 100+ gold.

Plus, if someone DOES buy that apple for 100g, then hey, you just got 100g for an apple.

I think the above posters are suggesting methods that can avoid or lessen the money that would be lost to the "AH cut," which is a percentage the AH takes from every sale. But I'd agree about just being safe and take the simple and easy route. Consider the lost gold as the "fee" for transferring gold cross-faction.

Legal? Technically. Highly likely to still trigger the detection system and get banned for "gold trafficking", then good luck proving your innocence afterwards to get unlocked.
