I'm thinking of leveling with my dad, but i'm not sure if the amount of XP we get will be enough. Does anyone have experiences with this kind of leveling?

Just don't level DPS/healer combo and make sure your partner is on just as much as you. You'll also want to do a lot of 5 mans (one full quest run of each) to make up the EXP.

It will probably be slower but it will be waaaay more fun so who cares if it's a bit slower. I have done this with my brother and it's fun and relaxing to play together with voicechat but unfortunately it have never ended well in the long run because he never wanna play when I wanna play ;(
Just be careful and don't use /follow and never ever log into each others accounts because you will probably be investigated for playing 2 accounts at the same time on the same IP (if that is the case I don't know if you are). This is allowed though as long as you are 2 persons playing but just keep that in mind.

I would disagree about the DPS/healer thing, i've done exactly that while lvling in group with another person to 60 and it works fine. Also if you know where to go and where to access all quests its not an issue with running out of them, chances are you'll rack up quite a bit of rested due to managing your schedules to play with each other as well.
The best tip i can give you is to do multiple races areas in the beginning, ie if you start gnome then do dun morogh until you run out, and then go to goldshire and keep doing that zone to make sure you always stay on top and to avoid doing orange quests.

With the exception of DPS being warrior.
A healer in dps spec is basically double DPS.

I leveled my Rogue to 60 with a friend who was healing. It took forever (plus she didn't play as much as I wanted to, so I was constantly unable to quest).

I had retail experience of this. My GF at the time rolled a druid and I was affliction lock. I was able to just dot everything and she out healed the damage incoming. we could pull multiple mobs at once so we "overkill" grinded quests that had mob objectives. We only did a handful of dungeons and got to 60 fairly quick. The exp loss from grouping was overcome by the amount of mobs we could kill quicker than solo. It was nice doing a druid/lock combo as I could mana tap to full mana, she threw hots and I would start pulling while she drank up. pretty much no down time.

Leveling together is very doable, most problems arise from logistics like being online at the same time.

If that is the case then i would already get banned...i have logged with my friend account several times, to use his profession (enchanting).. Also have used it to take us both from darnasus to westfall so when he logs again, we will be ready for xp again..
I dont think is a crime or cheat to do so...and also people who say they got banned for multiboxing, they probably lie and did something else instead..

Lol, 2 man leveling is million times better than solo. Because you can protect yourself in wpvp and use ultimate combos like rogue+rogue (backstab spam) or druid+druid (shred spam) or war+pala\priest\shaman
