The lag is making people leave - Introduce a Q system

Honestly - The server lag is actually getting worse - I know you are trying to address it but at times it really is unplayable.

World PVP - 1 second for spells to go off - Melee trying to hit things standing on their toes and get "The target is too far away"

PVE - You cannot even farm areas as the delay gets you killed by mobs.

As I said before I understand your trying to fix it but June is some way off - Until you get it resolved can you not at least introduce a queue system? You say the server wobbles at 11k + so limit it at 10k or as near as?

Regards

would love a 10k or even 9k player cap. several thousand given players online are AFK anyway.

Queue would be nice

Or an IP ban on China

Or you could do a little entrapment thing where Nostalrius staff makes a fake Xiangghouhong etc character, sells people gold, pockets the cash to make a second server, and ban whoever buys the gold.

That last one might be the best idea I've ever had there are literally no downsides

Can we please not let this deteriorate in a bash fest on China - I would like to address the queue numbers not the actual persons logging on.

Thanks

This. Something must be done.
I havent played much last month, was impressed how shitty game experience became after 11k.
And when there is 12k, pvp gameplay is totally ruined - jumping from a mount, start casting a spell, spell interrupting because server thinks im still on mount lol.
And im not even speaking about constant gouges in the back ...

It's Smithian economics at play. The value of playing in the server is diminished due to lag, cluttered areas and pvp delay. Number of people using it will diminish.

please start a fundraiser for all the hardware nostalrius needs instead of creating 12873178 threads about the same issue?

The type of game you're looking for: Community oriented, time-requiring MMORPGs, are a thing of the past. This is why Everquest is nothing like what it once was, or why DaoC was sold to another company for redesign and new management.

Video game quality is in a pretty bad spot right now. RTS games like Starcraft 2: HOTS were a complete dissapointment to me, with the single player campaign being extremely easy (even the achievements in hard aren't difficult, and I had to go above the game's targets and play it all in brutal), story being lazy and simplistic, and it all being super short.

The way the video game market works nowadays is for fast-paced, streamlined, games with high visual and sound quality, that allows for casual use: Play 40 minutes, leave for work, play another 40 minutes, go have lunch, etc.

That's why MOBAs are the big flare of online gaming, why RTS are assessed much more for the multiplayer matches (again 15-45 min duration), or why FPS is still going strong. Single player RPGs are maybe an alternative for you, I think stuff like Elder Scrolls or the Fallout series have received good feedback. I don't play them myself so I can't really comment.

For my part, when I have time to play videogames I either play a bit here, or if not, load old emulators for SNK arcade games or 90s-2000s RTS games.

You realise people would just log in 3 hours before raid and run some afking bots to make sure they don't lose their online spot?
