I wouldn't be surprised. Half of blizzard's CS team was in France :O

Also the original Dev team that built and coded up to near end of wrath are all gone by now, so it could be plausible that anyone coding for some of these projects could be an old Dev trying to keep his work alive.

That is not true.

-Alex Afrasiabi is still on the team. Alex was one of the original vanilla Devs. Tribute to him in game is the Fras Siabi tobacco shop in Stratholme as well as Field Marshal Afrasiabi in Stormwind.

-Tom Chilton aka Kalgan, also an original Vanilla Dev, is still on the team. Tribute to him in game is the Auctioneer Chilton in Stormwind.

- Jeffrey Kaplan aka Tigole, also an original Vanilla Dev, is still on the team.

I recollect there was a French Community Rep during WoW Vanilla, working with Blizzard EU in Paris, called CREZAX who left Blizzard in late 2006 if memory serves. Maybe that's whom you mean.

I think he's on the Overwatch team now. I haven't seen him working on anything WoW since WotLK. He was part of the Titan Project for sure.

Erm, Alex is not a developer for WoW he is pretty much a director. I talked about the original Development team.

Chilton no longer develops the games. He has been promoted to Director.

Tigole left WoW before cata was being developed to work on titan and after titan fell apart he went to work on overwatch. Hasn't been working on wow since.

In February 2009 Kaplan announced that he was stepping down as Game Director for World of Warcraft to switch his role at Blizzard.[3] He previously worked on the unannounced, unnamed massive-multiplayer online game in production at Blizzard Entertainment, code-named Titan.[4] With the cancellation of Project Titan, Jeffrey Kaplan became the game director for Blizzard's latest setting, Overwatch.

wiki link 3: http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/12/jeff ... -warcraft/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Pardo Lead desinger left
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbine_Studios "Carbine's founders were 17 former members of Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft development team"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagship_Studios "founded by Bill Roper along with Max Schaefer, Erich Schaefer, and David Brevik, former high level Blizzard North executives" .... "many were key high level executives in the development of Warcraft, StarCraft and World of Warcraft games. Flagship Studios was formed following the resignation en masse of Blizzard North management following a dispute with Blizzard Entertainment parent company".....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_5_Studios "an American computer game company that was known for its prior high ratio of former employees of Blizzard Entertainment. The founders previously worked on World of Warcraft."

Like I stated a good chunk, if not all of the lead developers are no longer active on Wow. There might be a few left, I give you that, but not all are there anymore.

That's right. You can see the direction WoW took after he left the team after LK released, it pretty much sucks now & has no chance to recover. Pardo tried to go back to the WoW team, he decided to leave Blizzard not too long after that. The company took WoW in a different direction, and decided to use the existing title to cater to 12 year-olds & less skilled players.
