Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hey guys,

Releasing the source code of Nostalrius online would be a big mistake. Everyone, and i mean almost everyone will step up and try to "revive" Nostalrius. We don't need 100 different servers with names like: Nostalrius Continues, Nostalrius Revive, Nostalrius V2 etc... because this will happen once the code is released.

Instead could you please give it to someone who's really interested and capable of maintaining this code? Pretty sure many ppl will abuse the name "Nostalrius" with theirs crappy servers.

After this happened with TPB, it didn't work out. There was a spam of bad clones, clones that had viruses, clones that were exploitative, etc. I'd really prefer an official "successor" to migrate to.

I dunno. I think I'd prefer Nostalrius release the code to maybe 3 projects at the most. One's that have a decent reputation. It's gonna be a clusterfuck of clones if everyone gets the code.

The most important thing is that it can handle a nostalrius size of player amount. I don't think many servers are capeable of that.

completely agree with the point about what happened when tpb tried this. survival of the fittest only applies if there is actual competition and not just an open scam fest. we'll be LUCKY if there is even one other team that will just appear out of the blue with even half the quality of nost

case point: we dont want different kinds of vanilla wow, we want vanilla wow. i want whoever can make that one thing best to be the one making it, i dont want anybody else making it, specially not blizzard any longer
