Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Please people be patient. There are a dozen websites/forums created since yesterday that claim they are "THE BEST" and that they will host "THE TRUE" Nostalrius experience.

Dont be this naive and give it a few days for the Nostalrius Staff to announce what is going to happen to the source code/database. Where will it go, to whom etc.

I am most certain that the database will not be released publicly so PLEASE stop registering into random websites and forums with (I presume, possibly) your account names and passwords that can later be used to hack you in a future LEGIT Nostalrius project.

Most of these websites make bold claims even though their webpages have hideous designs/empty forums and are ran by people who speak bad english.

I hope your understand my point of view and be cautious and just wait this whole situation out and see the outcome.

There is 1 website/forum that has been spammed on the subreddit and here on the forums. Thats Vanilla.ru
you can tell from a far away this guy is not professional and is probably just phishing accounts and passwords.

Pretty much on the same line of thought as OP. However I can't help but give such "volunteers" a quick look. I really just want to soak up as much info as I can so I can be ready for anything. To be honest I'm only hoping the community stays together. Once we know we've preserved the banner that we all stand under that'll make everything else a whole lot easier. It saddens me to see that so many have already (most likely) given up. Not that I blame them (nor can I) but I personaly think we shouldn't let the number 1 thing that made vanilla so great die out just yet. Yes, I'm talking about the community we built. Divided we fall, united we stand.

I agree every just needs to wait and see what happens. If the database is released to the public then wait for a legit server to pick it up. Their are rumors that a bigger server is in talks with the nostalruis team about picking it up.

We know the time you spent here, the guilds you were part of, and these people with whom you have shared experiences with. We know the strength of these links, and we also know that they do not need a special WoW realm to survive. However, we will still be publicly providing everything needed in order to setup your own “Nostalrius” if you are willing to.

They did, but they wont. Believe me.
Because the consequences of releasing it publicly would destroy the community and all their efforts at once. They just didnt think it through upon writing that.

But nevermind that. This project is real - and if only you'd stop badmouthing the place, based on whatever judgement you think you have - we could actually get the attention of the people here.

This place is real. It is happening. I am not someone special there. Look me up. I am, like here, a regular member. But I have been following the place - all day. And it is progressing rapidly.

Their development team has had contact with Nostalrius Development Team. Things are set to happen on 11th. or 12th. of April. Servers are based in Finland.

Think all you want. Whatever thoughts you want. But don't stop people from making their own assumptions or opinions. Go there. Look. Read. And know that this place is here to save Nostalrius.

Whether they get an exclusive on the data - I have no clue. But they get access to it, and will be using it, to reactivate all your characters.

They have even made it so far as to call their realm - Nostalrius Reborn.

Doubt that would be wise, unless some truth is behind their words.

I totally doubt that...Nostalrius team wouldn't only care to save pvp server, but pve also... those at Vanilla.re , have nothing to do with nostalrius..they just wanna get nostalrius population for their pvp server.... nice try, as 100 others have tried too...
