Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

UPDATE: THEY DONT HAVE A PVP SERVER AND THE PROGRESSIVE ONE IS PVE.
So until they agree to change to pvp, don't go there and let me talk with the admins first to try convince them to modify the server with Nostalrius pvp rules.

Ok it seems that someone actually did something. Go at http://www.truewow.org/, it seems they have up and running a very nice and stable server for us. I quote from their page :

IMPORTANT
- All of the current transfer requests from Nostalrius will be processed on PrimalWoW. If you wish to transfer to TrueWoW instead, contact a staff member so we can reject your transfer before it's processed.


Key advantages:

1. Server is up and running NOW, so you can register and start playing.
2. They are ready to import our characters, we only need to talk to request this from them.
2. They are making it progressive vanilla too
3. They are running a vanilla 3.3.5 emulator, therefore all the vanilla annoying bugs are gone and we get improved vanilla graphics, which is not bad at all.

So let's give it a shot, if its not good we'll just stop playing, nothing bad will happen.

TrueWoW is a Wotlk server (one of the betters - played there before Nost).

PrimalWoW is a progression server, still at 1.12 - but running on a Woltk cMangos core. This means the vanilla experience is not 100% vanilla (is it ever?) - it's no problem, you just need to be aware that the core was made for woltk, not vanilla or tbc.

I have considered trying PrimalWoW myself, but for now I rest on vanillagaming.org and check the next few weeks before I make a decision.

Well, they say they are at patch 1.5 and its a 1x realm, which is again good. The server is almost empty atm, so several thousands of players could accomodate fast. They are also importing NOW characters from Nostalrius, which is again good. I'll go there and try it and then come it with a review, hopefully good.

The population on PrimalWoW is roughly 200; which is very low. A "handfull" more people from Nost would indeed help

Is their Primalwow realm just PvE though? if yes, that sucks

yes it seems its pve... so if they wont change it, it can't be a solution to us. Trying to talk with them to see if they can make it pvp.

This smells like uber scam. They want you username and password for nostalrius account for transfer. I imagine once nostalrius release the source and encrypted player data those truewow guys will be able to steal ur stuff from every server that emerges from that released data. No thanks

they dont, as far as I know, they want you to post the realmplayers profile and nothing more.

Lots of guys are pretending to be the new nost.
