I thought they were going to release the nost core and database?
It would help all other and future vanilla servers perfecting the experience.

From what I've been able to understand the Nost staff has decided to talk things over with potential WORTHWHILE dev groups. If that IS the case I REALLY hope they're talking to someone situated in Russia or whatever country is safe from US laws and that these new devs will indeed be able to maintain the server as well as the Nost team did. Ofcourse the information I have could be completely false.

That's my impression as well. At least they should not start sharing data to 20+ Nost-like servers with no intention of actually developing the server AND the code.
For now, all the new Nost servers emerged I've seen so far have all tried to leech on Nostalrius' work - and offered none themselves.

It take times to make the data useful for scrubs like the most people of here.
Nobody will understand there database und core stuff when you have zero it knowledge.

So I take it they're not looking for an actual good team? Well that's great if it's true...

China or Russia.
There's a World of Warcraft theme park in China that blizzard don't own and have been trying to get closed for years lol.

Most (if not all) private servers in China was closed down recently, so don't bet on China as the next hosting country.

I'm sure they are waiting for the right person/group to be their banner men. so they can continue developing in the background and not be the target if Blizzard comes back for round 2.

Nostalrius did many things right but can also learn from the mistakes for whatever the future holds.
1. It needs to absolutely stay away from the US and EU.
2. Stay more anonymous.
3. Perhaps changing hosts frequently. (easier said than done, I get it)
Sure, this takes huge effort. The management of the teams on Nost were amazing but I think this is one area that needs to be done right from the start.
The leaders - Daemon, Viper, Nano, Tyrael, and other staff did great work here. These are passionate individuals that spent many years working on this project only to end off at patch 1.8 on the PvP Realm, a PvE Realm, and a TBC Realm in early stages of development.
"We will still be there in the background if you want us to, but will no longer take the lead." -Nostalrius Team
I want these guys in the background even if they don't take the lead. However, the professionalism they had was outstanding. I'm hopeful something will happen. There hasn't been a server such as this EVER and I hope the project can continue on in some form with same professionalism as this staff.
