Hello first of all i'm sorry if this as been stated elsewhere tho I haven't found anything talking about it yet.

Whats the state on the database releasing so that other servers can keep the nostalrius dream alive?
I believed 100% that it would happen as soon as I read it from you guys. I'm not ready to give up on my chars and the nostalrius community!
I love you all so much it was short but it was good.

So I just wanted to know how are those things that allow nostalrius to be revived by someone else going.

Ah... better screenshot that Community Announcement for posterity I guess...

Today is also the day where Nostalrius will start being community-driven in the truest sense of the word, as we will be releasing the source code, and anonymized players data (encrypting personal account data), so the community as a whole will decide the form of the future of Nostalrius. We will still be there in the background if you want us to, but will no longer take the lead.

If what I'm reading in that post you linked is representative of Nostalrius admins the backpedaling has started in earnest.

We're never going to see that code or player db.

I mean sure Bobby Kotick is a potential partner, that's what partners do, they send ceace and desist orders.

It has literally been one day since closing, be patient. If they release the code, I am sure they plan to give it to a team that will actually continue their dream than a team that is rushing to pick up the scraps and just use their name for gain.

Additionally, on another post they said they something along the lines of discussing all options with their team, as they did not want go out half cocked.

Being patient is the key....even though its really really really hard to do at the moment.
