Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

What if, WHAT IF! This is all a master plan of pro vanilla Blizzard exec's to prove to the board that there is a profitable demand for legacy servers by causing a media fiasco to bring all the Classic nerds out of the woodwork, enabling an update on their estimates to correlate with a profitable business decision.

There are media ramifications to champion this, as people would say the game is dead, they need to go backwards to make money etc. By stubbornly being on the opposite side they get to enact a theater of redemption & renewed community faith, as they play the good part of coming to their senses.

While the movie comes out

When the latest expansion releases

They drop the bomb and become the industry's favorite company again out of no where, blindsiding media polls and going viral like wildfire.

I purchased stock in the company on Friday. My hunch is good as a buddy has informed me from some folks he knows in the company that something big is being worked on. No its not legion, but is related to the shutdown, plans for legacy, etc. That is all I know.

If Blizzard literally destroyed a community so they could make money, well it makes it all the worse not something g to be excited about.

It would be the least worst outcome. It's shitty, anti-consumer and imo not illegal since we've never seen this fought out in court.

But it'd still be the least worst outcome possible. At least in my opinion since other options such as:

- Being left alone

- Officially licensing Nostalrius the rights to host this server

Are just unlikely even if they are technically better.

I'd probably still play Nostalrius over official servers because we all know Blizzard will only make Kronos sized servers. Tiny little 2k pop realms. Nostalrius was more than just vanilla. It was the original World of Warcraft that the original game could never be due to technical constraints of the time.
