Their mind set is "it's not fair that this guy spent 4 months leveling his blacksmithing and he has a better weapon than me, I want it too" and blizzard caters to this idea. Not only is this ideology wrong, it destroys world of warcraft, and ultimately the entire country.
Can't we really stop this line of thought. I really enjoy Vanilla for it's merits and I like that leveling and dungeons are the core of the WoW experience, but especially today it's considerably easier than live.
Yes you receive raid gear and epic quality gear at a slower pace which on the whole I think it a good thing, because it makes each upgrade more meaningful, however even epic gear is often a poorly itemized mess that's not really helpful to progression.
For example, if you are a warlock you can literally get 300 tailoring and craft bloodvine in roughly a week or two. And then you have pretty much the best chest, legs, and boots you can get till T3. That's literally nuts. Plus lets not forgot that Nef died within hours of release to multiple guilds. Imagine if when BRF launched you could craft gear that was only surpassed by mythic HFC gear or if Mythic Imperator has died within hours of release. There would be riots, and people decrying that raiding is pointless and WoD sucks and WoW is super casual now, etc. etc. Yes you get tons of purples from Tannan Jungle, but mathematically that gear is nowhere near epic quality and it's really just a color.
Again, vanilla is an amazing experience and I have certainly enjoyed my time on Nost, but I don't think this argument is either accurate in modern times or helps promote legacy servers.
