Seriously, just know that basically any private server including this hypothetical "Nost 2.0" is going to be a massive disappointment if you expect it to be anywhere close to Nostalrius in terms of the overall quality of the experience.

If this was your first then consider yourself lucky.

Yeah, I was rly surprised when stumbled across Nost. Prior that moment my feeling about freeshards was like $hit. I never rly played freeshards in case of that. But for the last 5 years I had any single MMO to cure my itch, so I went pretty desperate and started looking for something old and good. I did not rly treat wow as a good game all this time in case I had no opportunity to play Vanilla in the past and my short wow exp was pretty shamefull when I tried to jump into bandwagon around MoP, when EQII (that went the blizz way - more EZ, less skill, solo play) was already destroyed for quite a time. Dropped like in 1 week.

But Nost made me to change my mind about FS and WoW. I had to reconsider a lot of things.
Last month the itch became just unbearable, so suddently I've recall some good talking about vanilla wow, googled for a while and found Nostalrius. This month I played here was the greatest mmo experience for a long long time. Great game not yet dumbed down, lots of players around make you feel rly playing an MMO, insane open world pvp, all that old school social MMO spirit. Great month of my life indeed. Thx, Nostalrius.

Nost was my third private server. I started on The Rebirth, then moved to Valkyrie, then our guild moved en masse to Nost when it launched.

There is something about Nostalrius. It was special. It was different from other private servers, and I can't quite put my finger on why.

At this point, I don't have any desire to move to anything else. Nothing else was or would be as good.

That's because it was. And even in the long term, still had major issues.

Nost was good, but it was far from perfect. Hyping it up to be jesus christ of private servers isn't a very good idea.

This is correct. Just don't expect the next server you join to be like nostalrius was when it was shutdown. It took years for Nost to get to that point.
