Setting up our own Nostalrius?

Hello,

First: a heartfelt thanks to the Nost team and community. I've only managed to get my new character to lvl 48 before the shutdown, but it was a glorious journey!

Second: I know nothing about WoW server implementation, but I was curious about the possibility of setting-up a WoW server on my own computer and playing either solo or with 3-4 friends. Is that even possible given that the team will release the source code?

whats the point playing with a few friends only? i mean if we would like to make this work we should make a site or talk here and start a plan somehow either way the hosting end up as the proplem, a site with a donation feature would be usefull to give a small amount for the hosting and by saying amount it should be whatever amount we want and can give.

i could help with the web code if anyone need to start a site or anything

Ivoryraptor: I really wish that we'll one day have access to another vanilla server as good as Nostalrius, hopefully without the risk of being shutdown by Blizzard. I'm opened to other suggestions. In the meantime, getting to play with a few friends is a lot of fun too...
