At least be upfront with your community.

Dear Nostalrious,

The community who has been so loyal to you, who has been with you for a year. The people who have taken the cause to Blizzard for you. The people who still stick around in high hopes of some enlightenment on the server. Your most loyal fanbase.

We deserve answers. The server shut down and its completely quiet. People are moving all over to play different games while awaiting for Nostalrious.

If not just officially announce Nostalrious as dead. Because some of us (who still will play vanilla) are waiting.

For the sake of us waiting in vein, some kind of sign for us to move on or will waiting be worth it.

We deserve SOME kind of answers.

******It's not about Nostalrious anymore. It's about enjoying vanilla and if you can't provide that then let us know so we can find someone else who will.****

I guess I haven't.

Should we wait for Nostalrious?

Or should I just move on to further my vanilla experience.

I really want to play vanilla but I want to play it on Nostalrious.

If it ain't coming back, I just want to move on to the next best vanilla server.

I am totally willing to wait, but not if it's never going to happen.

Regarding the future release of Nostalrius related data; we confirmed that we will *not* be officially endorsing any private server. We have the idea and sense that Nostalrius can no longer live if Blizzard does not accept it. Nostalrius was a fan made project; therefor, hiding it in offshore countries to continue against the original game creator would be a transgression of our principles, of the reasons why Nostalrius existed in the first place.

Regarding player related data, we settled on a strong algorithm to ensure data privacy for everyone. According to European laws, and foremost to our policy of privacy and personal data protection, you will have to explicitly choose to have your personal information included on the public data release if you wish so. More information regarding this part will be available next week, for both players and server makers willing to restore Nostalrius characters.

Well just because they wont officially endorse anybody doesnt necessarily mean it can't live on I guess, but not good chances :(

You do realize that releasing data and endorsing a project is two totally different things. In fact I would say it's better that they do not endorse any project, as that project could turn out to be crap i nthe long run. This way all the data will be floating out there, for anyone to grab and forge a traiblaze to glory. Or not. Such are freeservers.
