Consider this:
- Blizzard has never given us a big fat no to legacy servers. Sure, they have spoken about it at Blizzcon and on the forums, answering people that they have no intention to do it at that moment. We all know the excuses they gave us, all of which have been refuted by now. But I have never sensed, from what I have read, seen and heard that they once and for all have given us the finger for it.
- It has now been over a week since the shut down of the largest private server in history. The following storm probably took Blizzard by surprise. The uproar is enormous and the wrath of the internet is pouring down on Blizzard on social media.
- Blizzard is completely quiet. Not a word.
But why is Blizzard quiet? If this issue was easy to resolve at Blizzards office, they surely would have clarified this to us by now and said "No, there will be no legacy servers.". But the pressure is enormous. Heck, even the BBC reporter tried to get a comment from Blizzard! But no, no comment.
I feel something is in the air. I am convinced this matter is under serious consideration among the devs of Blizzard right now. They wouldn't be so quiet about it if that was not the case. See, Blizzard is pretty good at shutting their mouths about things they are working on (see past game releases).
Am I interpreting their silence wrong?
