Permissions to create legacy.

by mathgod50 » Tue Apr 19, 2016 6:38 pm

Is it possible that one of you programming geniuses could present a business model in working in tandem with blizzard to create legacy servers BEFORE creating the server that everyone already jumps on. Perhaps this will be less offensive and demanding in their eyes. This thread was just to created for another solution that could work.

There HAS to be enough reason to create one, not only for profit, but for the people who didn't get the luxury to experience the old wow, and for the people who still want to role play and theory craft etc. etc., nostalgia. Requiring players to have an active subscription but not necessarily to have the most up to date expansions. I bet a large percent of the players would still update expansions if this was allowed and dump money into pretty ponies and pets.

Blizzard can make a Public Interface API to allow certified classic realms integration with subscription model. This way, Blizzard would benifit from character class changes or realm transfers, because the process is defined by them and any uncertified realm (I mean unauthenticated) could be shutdown without any problem (if they want, they must ask for legal authorization from Blizzard, following the same rules).

For classic realm developers, they will maintain the same community because there is a payment associated with realm change.

For players, they could play where they want or like and when they start looking for some different experience, they can pay for a change staying subscribed.

Note: Maybe it is possible for them to rethink the model of free subscriptions...

I only see advantages for all, but it will depend on Blizzard implementation process.
