Don't be disappointed...

... when the petition does nothing. Blizzard is fapping in their Garrisons watching this deformed version of WoW die while they make millions of dollars from Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, etc.

The petition is definitely something to be proud of as a community, but don't expect it to yield any real results.

If it truly does nothing, if blizzard really does not respond to us, then this will be a very ugly point for them as a game developer.

We all know private servers are illegal, that is no longer the issue, the issue has become blizzard not giving a shit about the players but still want money out of them.

Since 1998, i have been the most loyal fan, but I will start to go out of my way to boycott all their products and try to convince people to do the same.

Am I alone in thinking this?

Doing the same, was gonna buy both legion and the expansion for Hearthstone. Not anymore.
Not only because of the Nost shutdown, but that was the nail in the coffin.

I'm kinda disappointed in ... Nostalrius team.

Don't get me wrong, the server was unprecedented in quality, I would even go so far that say hey outperformed Blizzard in every way. Tour de force at its finest.

But to expect that Blizzard is going to let it live is pretty naive.

So you love what they did, but you think it's stupid that they did it, because Blizzard would have taken it down anyway? Talk about ungrateful... They could have just not done it and we wouldn't have had our 1 year of fun, nor would this entire movement have started for legacy servers. If anything we should be bowing our heads in gratitude.

I grew up with Blizzard games.
When I was 7 years old my dad bought our first PC, good old Win95.
My first games were some "point and click adventures" and "Warcraft 2" which I got burned on disc from my cousin.
So while I clicked through some bunny adventures I'd slaughter Humans and Orcs every now and then when nobody was watching ;)

Later followed by heavy Diablo 1 lan sessions, Diablo 2 online and the glorious Warcraft 3.
Everytime I saw the blue BLIZZARD logo I knew this game is going to be my new favorite game until Blizzard releases a new game.

But now, when I just read "Blizzard" I think of a bunch of morons milking the enormous playerbase they established.

When Dragon soul lasted forever I was like "Oh Blizzard, Soon™, It's done when It's done - get your shit together"

MoP and WoD made me angry and I was like "Fuck those guys"

But now when they closed our home and crushed our dreams my anger turned into grief.
Reading their logo makes me sad, knowing what once was will never be again.

TL;DR: Boycott Blizzard!
