Actually... that couldn't be further from the reality of it. That's your subjective opinion based on nothing at all. Why you even care enough to try and bring people down on this matter is beyond me, but anyways. Why else would the majority of people on Nost come out and say they would be willing to pay for the content if it was legitimized? Why would they speak out over and over again saying that they want to play vanilla cause they personally enjoy it a lot more than what's currently out? Doesn't seem like that equates to it being popular due to it being free. In fact, to turn your statement around on you I'm going to go as far as saying that FAR more people would play vanilla WoW for multiple reasons. Plain old curiosity would be one reason people would check it out, this would for sure be something that people in the age range of 14-22 year old would do since they were far too young to get into it back in the day. Another reason being that a lot of people didn't even know this server or any private servers of older expansions even existed. Lastly, a lot of people would be very hesistant to even begin on a private server. What I'm trying to get to is, I truly question your critical thinking capabilities. You're thinking very small.

... and even those who never played vanilla will fell in love with the game. Of that you can be sure.

If they stream a game who no one loved they will loose viewer and lost money.
