I never personally understood why people who are playing on retail right now are so opposed to Legacy WoW servers.
At the end of the day, we are all fans of the game, we love the game we played (play), and we want to continue playing it.
Some people love Vanilla, some people love TBC, some people love WOTLK and dislike the rest. What is the problem in that? If you love WOD, play WOD, but please, don't flame people that don't want to play WOD and want to play Vanilla/TBC/WOTLK or any other expansion.
We all love the same thing, we should all be working towards the same goal.

Hardware has changed, some vanilla systems are still in use so you'd have to update what used it to work with the new version. And where would the developers even come from? They're not going to pull devs off of live when content already comes out at a glacial pace.

Well... Has anyone told him that this is exactly what Nostalrius staff did without asking for money? And also, I quote the text from the petition : "We don’t have the pretention to come up with a complete solution regarding legacy servers that you and your company didn't already think about, but we'd be glad and honored to share it with you if you're interested, still on a volunteer basis.".

Anyway, I do think that most people playing on retail are either unaware of this petition or just don't care. Few of them are stupid enough to spend time to gather absurd arguments to defend Blizzard.

The retail crowd is currently full of pre-masturbaters who wouldn't know a good game if they saw one. Of course they wouldn't play Vanilla, because they would actually have to put effort into the game. Other than whining on the forums about how hard it's to get an epic. I guarantee that majority who're against a vanilla retail server, haven't even played vanilla themselves. All the tards that started in WOLTK that ruin the community now, and they think that was the start of WoW. :/
