It's proven beyond any denial now that quite a few people would sub back up for such a server. In fact, if they did Classic, BC, and Wotlk, they'd probably get millions of reactivated or new accounts in total. These servers would quickly outnumber modern subs, and I can only imagine how many would exodus over to older servers, tiring of the panda bear lobby system facebook ap children's playground retail has become. But this embarrassment for developers working on new content, which they know would soon be in the minority for players, is exactly why they don't want to do it.

Maybe not too hard (it depends if they know how to speak in general chat to group with peoples otherwise they might not get out of goldshire and will hate kobolds forever same in westfall with defias) but certainly too time consumming...

Hit the nail on the head. A big part of what made vanilla great was that you basically lived in another world, and you had to because of all these small time consuming things (which were great imo). Current WoW is catered to people who log in occasionally for an hour or so, which is not what an MMO should be. You should be totally immersed in the world. I think this is also why vanilla and to a lesser extent TBC and WotLK evoke such emotions, because the players actually felt like part of a world.

I resumed the two mains ideas in the second post of the thread. They also said that oppening a legacy server would be like "retrogaming" and gave examples for other videogames.
