"We failed Horrifically"
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/blizzard-on-cancelled-titan-mmo-we-failed-horrific/1100-6439068/It's really quite depressing hearing them explain how it all fractured around Titan, where many lead devs got too big for their boots, not familiar with the concept of failure. It made me quite teary. Now we all know what went down, occam's razor holds true.

interesting. thanks for sharing.
edit:
Now I listened to this I think I understand more why Blizzard been holding back on legacy servers.
They feel like it's a step back, but it's really not. They have to understand that over the years wow has changed.
And with change you gain fans and you lose some as well. There is just no way around that. It's what you can expect.
By opening legacy servers you invite some of the fans you lost on the way of change back into your home. There is nothing negative about that. I don't like current wow, but that doesn't mean I don't understand that some do enjoy it. We're not asking Blizzard to shut down current wow and instead bring back the old version.
No, we want both. We want to be able to choose between the two versions. Heck, many will probably enjoy both.
It's not a step back. It's a step forward!

As he said " we had to keep re-inventing the wheel". Why do that when the wheel is already rolling? It would be really sad if Overwatch flopped on them too, especially after watching that vid. Overwatch doesn't appeal to me one bit and I'd much rather play battlefield 4 than that. I would feel bad for them in a way if it did flop because they were only doing as instructed to make sure their CEO keeps his pay.

It's a way to unite the old with the new.

I don't care about Overwatch either. I was really hyped for HOTS and Overwatch in the beginning, but they kept letting people play alpha and beta for months (years?) and started doing tournaments before it was even released!? It pissed me off so much that I stopped caring by the time it got released. Overwatch has a good concept but its missing the world and progression. MMO's and Arena games should mix with each other.
I want FPS style combat in an open fantasy world with no instances and resource points that constantly produce value and the desire to contest it through FFA PVP. Is that too much? Give me Quake 3 with wizards and warriors and top quality realistic looking art.

You can tell that the team in the video doesn't work on Warcraft anymore, and the game began going downhill when Titan production began. If only they didn't send all their talent to new titles and actually kept pockets of good developers leading each game to balance out the shit

They claim to scan all petitions and can detect spammers/hackers/and multiple signatures from the same person easily and can remove them with ease. I'm pretty confident all the signatures are legiment, I've kept a eye on the petition since it was made and I have noticed a few moments where the count dropped a few signatures.

Thats funny, they got moved from working on their dream hardcore autist mmo because they spent too much time arguing over which game's feature set they should steal to patching up the final details from another team's casual friendly arcade shooter Overwatch. Hahahah

I love how the video gets all emo with Metzen when he talks about the team being so happy when Overwatch released, even though it's a generic casual multiplayer shooter in an oversaturated market that most likely in no way resembles Titan. Honestly i would never think Overwatch is a blizzard game if i didn't know it.
This makes me think some of their people thought Titan was going to be too expensive and risky and forced them to switch to making a new cash cow.
