What they mean with that is a Legion server without all these things.

I've tried to level a char on retail without heirlooms raf and dungeon finder but you still are incredible overpowered and outlevel every area within minutes.

This only makes sense when "the journey" is enjoyable



I just hope the Blizz guy who talked with Nost was like "psst just reopen your realm in Russia and we still have our IP protected as we can't reach you there"

But no Alex, that's not what we want.
Stuff would still be too easy, enemies that should be elites would be solo mobs.
Loot wouldn't be correct. And with buffed loot it makes the content easier.
Flight paths around every corner. etc etc etc

I want legacy servers.
If blizzard cant or refuses to provide them I feel forced to play on private servers.

Very dissapointed by this responce tbh.

There is nothing I would love to do more then to play vanilla again on a blizzard realm. However it would seem they pretty much are never going to do that.

As for prisitine realms. Thanks but absolutley no thanks. It wouldn't even be close to vanilla it would bassically just be the game with some bonuses stripped away. you would still never die even if you were to pull alot of mobs and as the poster above stated you would still level insanely fast. So truly not a chance they'd lure me back with that.

Simply because "You think you do, but you don't" It really makes me cringe to see that J. Allen Brack wrote this post. I'm positive the Blizzard staff said that quote to him on a daily basis.

While they have ruled out operating any legacy servers themselves with this post, they don’t seem to have ruled out the possibility of licencing them out to third parties – they only say that they can’t give out operating licences to pirate servers. And as Nost is no longer operational it would no longer be considered a pirate server?

The fact that they are talking to the Nost guys is certainly interesting.

Why not just let Nostalrius continue the way it was? The honest answer is, failure to protect against intellectual property infringement would damage Blizzard’s rights. This applies to anything that uses WoW’s IP, including unofficial servers. And while we’ve looked into the possibility – there is not a clear legal path to protect Blizzard’s IP and grant an operating license to a pirate server.

I'm pretty sure anything not directly blizzard is out.
