TB sounds like a shill for blizzard in that video, while he's trying to not sound against vanilla servers he's still projecting his ideas on why blizzard will not make legacy servers, not sure if he's doing it on purpose for the sake of discussion or if he just sold himself out. Never felt that about TB before, maybe I'm just overthinking, maybe he just don't give a fuck about wow, then why talk about it?

Awhile ago i was convinced this guy was an egotistical dick head who had no idea what he was talking about. Still do. Especially with this video log lol...

"The story is fairly predictable, as are any private servers running the wow code, this is a pirate server. This has happened many many timed. Essentially playing the game without a subscription is piracy. There's no other way to slice it. Eventually Blizzard gave them a Cease and Desist and took them down. Servers don't last long".

If he knew ANYTHING about private servers, he would know this isn't the case. If he knew ANYTHING about piracy, he would know this isn't the case. If he would have read the story the Nost devs gave us, he would know that it wasn't a Cease and Desist order.. It was a fucking letter....

Servers like Molten/Warmane, Gamer District, Vanilla Gaming, Excalibur, Eternal-Wow, Hell-Ground, Smolderforge have been running for YEARS. Do you actually BELIEVE, that they haven't received letters?

Out of all the years I've played private servers, I know two, TWO private servers, that have been officially shut down by Blizzard. Wow-Scape, because they were making 500k a fucking month in revenue from donations. And another server by the name of toxic-wow...

Nostalrius did NOT receive a court order. Their host provider cannot receive a Cease and Desist letter with a fucking court date on it. I'm sorry, but it really is that simple. You have to receive several letters before something that major happens. You have to receive several letters before you even get a Cease and Desist letter. The reason Nostalrius shut down is because they decided to shut down, not because of Blizzard. EVERY servers gets these letters, including servers like warmane.

And TB is a fucking idiot, no server uses wow's code... That's why you need to code and script the core.... Has no idea what he's talking about... The only legal ground Blizzard could stand on is art assets. And that's not much.

They're echoing arguments that have already been disproved a while back.

Is there interest? Overwhlemingly, despite the constant push back.
Is it financially viable? Twitch train and 240k+ people from the start (can also be bundled with current progression). Mark Kern also confirms that the maintenance fees are not as expensive as Blizzard would like you to think.
Would people stay on for long amounts of time? Nostalrius.
Is it legally possible for Blizzard to license 3rd party servers? Mark Kern says yes and previously help wrote past Blizzard legal documents (people don't realize he went to law school).

All people are left with is fanboyism and false opinion at this point. The facts are on the table and they don't want to accept it.

Stopped listening after 5 minutes. They sound like a bunch of clueless tools. They couldn't even bother to know the correct account totals. TB clearly doesn't give a shit about WOW in general so while I appreciate his other videos, on this topic I'm simply going to ignore his feedback.

This.

I use to like and respect TotalBiscuit because of his stance on 60 FPS standard in PC games and because he usually gave pretty accurate game reviews, but as of late, I haven't had much respect for him. When he avoided to address The Witcher 3 graphics downgrade because of "conflict of interests" it was a big low for me, I more or less stopped watching him then.

Just recently saw a video of him talking about Dark Souls 3, where he (after bitching about the internet community and that his videos take a long time to make) he says that there is no way to make a review of Dark Souls 3, because he is not good at the game and can't progress far, but even worse, his main excuse for not being able to review the game, is that it runs differently on different computers?

Listening to https://youtu.be/Bo5Wr-8ya20?t=1h46m50s is pretty much the last straw for me.

"The numbers seem to be all over the place."

No you fat fuck, the numbers were literally on the nost website. If you don't know what the fuck you're talking about then don't talk about it.

Man it drives me up the wall how people are throwing these numbers around as if it's that hard to find them.

"The numbers are all over the place"

At that point it just becomes 100% obvious that noone on the stream has a clue what they are talking about and listening becomes pointless. It is about as interesting as discussing the finer points of politics with your slightly retarded cousin twice removed.
