No offense, but I wouldn't want them in charge of "design". They blatantly ignored bugs (this isn't the same as just prioritizing a bug low on the list) and chose to develop features in a completely un-vanilla like manner. Were they good? Perhaps. Were they bad? Maybe.
Don't get me wrong. I very much appreciate and support both Viper and Daemon. Hell the Nost team for that matter, but if Legacy servers were going to become legit...
I'd want Blizzard to do it, not Nost. Viper/Daemon have even said it as well. I'd hope the team would be more as advisers to the project. "This is what we learned with our community, do this..." type of things. Allen Brack definitely doesn't have a clue. Blizzard has everything archived (as Mark Kern has stated). So, their "design" involvement should be minimal in terms of the actual game itself.
As for what the Nost team has developed with anti-cheat, the node system they were working on, tools & programs, etc. Yea, fuck yea that's what they should contribute to Blizzard and the project. Just not "game design". Unpopular opinion perhaps. Maybe the Nost team are incredible at game design, but it wasn't shown with Nost.
