The conspiratard in me wants to believe it. 30 people coming together and having Mangos support 15k players while Kronos can't fuckin do 5k yet is just insane

And then the infographics. They weren't there to advertise, they were there to middlefinger blizz.

Hmm so it was actually blizzard, damn.
They took the chance to finally be able to sell gold without being suspected.
They also sneaked GMs in all guilds and created fake drama to distract everyone from the actual purpose of Nostalrius...

Makes sense

No.

Blizzard is too incompetent to pull a long game. Look at the people leading that company. Just generic white collars with dead eyes, following econometric theory religiously and engaging in short term marketing strategies.
The kind of plan you're suggesting does happen with some frequency, but done by people and over areas that are very, very much above the range of a has-been videogame and the minor branch of a NASDAQ company.

Activision is secretly controlling them!! They want to make legacy servers, but they can't! That's why they hatched this plan to show activision just how profitable it would be. The c&d letter was faked, they just wanted to start a shitstorm! J. Allen Brack said " you think you do, but you don't " to piss people off and make them more willing to support legacy servers! /tinfoil

I found this awesome comment about blizz at time of TBC
Blizzard was unafraid. They could literally look you in the eye and tell you : You ain't gonna see the Sunwell. Because you are #Dogshit. Nowadays ? Pants droppin' and bendin' over.
