He covers all the good points for both developers and players, but I still insist that hosting "all" versions of the game is best. If necessary, you can just get a dedicated staff for each, like different games would. Each version, if running a sub, would pay for itself, so there's basically no reason to do this. You charge for access to all the servers, label them for what patch they are, then let players pick whichever one they damn well please. Regardless of which one they pick, you're getting a sub out of them, as opposed to nothing. Those millions of lost subs aren't coming back without the older versions we want to play on.

Gotta love how everyone tries to stroke Blizzard by saying they had the right to take it down because otherwise it would be harder to take down "real" pirates... but wait, you took down a none profit one and left the ones that actually "takes money out of your pocket", thats what being stunningly full of shit is all about :)

I found it interesting how very lopsided in favor of Legacy servers the comments on the video were. Especially the oldest comments in the first 30 mins where one can assume that mostly those subscribed to the channel watched it rather than wow players who got there via link.

I wouldn't have expected that.

I think that video made some very interesting points. I loved how the video started out asking the question, do we have the right to be allowed to play an ever changing game the way we bought it. And my answer to that is yes we should have the right. I started out in WoW playing Burning Crusade, and I don't really like the current version of the game so I unsubscribed. I would still be subscribed to the game if they still allowed these older versions, because those were the versions to WoW I found enjoyable. And its a shame I can't play it.

I also liked how the video also gave two points of view from the consumer and the developers One point that I think can be argued about is the fragment of the community not everyone being on the same page. Yes that does make a concern but that is an easy fix in my opinion. You could make a separate website for legacy servers. They could even make the website as it was then to maybe make things easier to track, that way everyone can be on the same board and doesn't create chaos when people are trying to communicate in that version of WoW.

In my opinion, I think in the long run it would be better to have older versions. Of course its going to cost a decent amount of money and man hours towards this project but trust me Blizzard you will not be disappointed.
