The battle for legacy servers continues. Blizzard's clever plan to postpone the meeting between Mike Morhaime and Mark Kern has so far been a success, but the community has grown restless with the recent capture and execution of the Nostalrius devs team. Mark is aware of the dangers involved with confronting the Blizzard CEO, but he is not afraid, for he is vanilla's last hope. He retweets a few more half naked anime girls, grabs his laptop, and makes his way to Irvine, CA.
Meanwhile, at Blizzard headquarters, Mike, J Allen Brack, Watcher, and the rest of the WoW dev team are deep in discussion. "We've just released our 16th expansion, Wrath of the Burning Pandarian Legion of Draenor, and we've already lost 75% of those new subscriptions. What can we do to revive this ded gaem?" Asks one of the developers. "Maybe we should give the players what they want." Suggests Watcher. His last statement was met by a cold silence and the angry glare of everyone in the room. J Allen Brack spoke up. "You don't get it Watcher. They don't want legacy servers. They think they do, but they don't. What we really need is an alternate subscription option known as the pristine subscription, where players can pay an extra $100/mo to play as the lich king. In addition to being the leader of the scourge, these pristine subscriptions would unlock extra garrison missions that upon completion would give those players a permanent +10 to every stat." This suggestion was met by the massive applause of the development team. Watcher sunk down into his chair. Moments later, Mark burst in.
"Kern?!?! How could it be? You made it past our core hounds!" Exclaimed a terrified Mike Morhaime. "You seem to have forgotten who coded them. I am their creator, Mike. I am, in a sense, their father." At this point, Brack had had enough. He lunged forward at Mark, reaching his bony fingers around his neck, crushing the last little bit of life out of the legacy movement. Just as Mark was about to lose consciousness, a booming voice from the skies echoed throughout the room. "Unhand him N'Zoth!" Commanded the voice. Brack shuddered, "No, it can't be..." At that moment a giant crash was heard from the roof of the building and dust fell from the rafters. Seconds later, the ceiling caved in and when the dust settled, the voice was revealed to be the almighty Lord Gaben himself, riding on the back of Onyxia. "You heard me, N'Zoth." Gabe continued. "Release Mark Kern or face my unbridled wrath!" Brack hesitated. "We'll it seems like there is no need for disguises anymore my Lord." said Brack with a hint of defiance. A blinding light illuminated the room and with the illusion shattered, the WoW dev team recoiled in fear at the sight of the old God, N'Zoth. " I had the entire World of Warcraft team under my control ever since the launch of Cataclysm. It's a shame you had to show up and ruin it all. No matter... you and Mark will join the Nostalrius team soon enough!"
With inhuman speed, a giant tentacle wrapped around Gaben and began crushing him in it's grasp. Meanwhile, Mark had snuck across the room and began typing away on his laptop. "I know just the way to defeat N'Zoth!" He thought. "I'll just modify his stats with raid finder values so simple that even a mouth breathing potato could defeat him!" Gabe's body grew limp and unresponsive, but it was too late. "I've done it!" Shouted Mark. "I've released patch 16.3.2!" Not even seconds later, a raid finder group had defeated N'Zoth for the first time on the retail servers. N'Zoth's image flickered and dropped the unconscious Gaben on the floor. "What have you done?" He hissed. "I have not come this far to fail now!" And with a dramatic death animation, Gabe was revived, and a beacon of light shone down on the room. "That's monster had been controlling us for quite a while. Thank you for rescuing us you two. As for vanilla servers, we will start development on them tomorrow. There will be an in game statue centered in stormwind, to celebrate our victory of the evil old God, J Allen Brack." "Thank you Mike," replied Gaben, "but we have other games to save. We must be on our way." With that final statement, Mark and Gaben climb on to the back of Onyxia and fly off into the sunset to begin a new adventure.
