So I just saw a TBC server capped at level 60

It got me thinking, what if we had TBC and WotlK smooshed into a single patch, everything TBC+ scaled down to 60 and open world drops in TBC+ zones scaled down appropriately. It would be like having 10 raid tiers in vanilla instead of 3.

Just a thought experiment :o

well having like 10 tiers gives a problem.
every tier should be better then the previous by atleast several %
"back in the day" running tier 2 or tier 2.5 made u a demi-god over regular players.
cant image what it would be with tier 4/5 ..

This!

It would be fun though. I'd like to try WOTLK raids with vanilla skills / talents. Some of those encounters must be impossible!

New expansion mechanics will completely and utterly break the older raids' difficulty.

that's like making a new game. The amount of effort put into balancing the higher level content for vanilla mechanics would be a feat in itself.

I still would love to see a level 60 Karazhan that only guilds with a guy with atiesh could enter and the loot tables are reskined mounts/armor, basically a giant bragging rights raid. Always seemed like a neat idea after nax is on farm mode

Oh you'd get the WotlK talents but only level 60 amount of points to spend!

I imagine it would, and would be something totally different too which is the point

Don't get me wrong, that would be my dream game, vanilla rules+ all the new content from BC and WotLK.

Let's hope that if we get legacy servers, that part in the survey about "new content in the form of new land and lore only" hints at something like this.
