Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Is it me or does anyone else think this "vanilla server conclusion" is getting stupidly ridiculous, Nostalrius got invited to blizzard headquarters and nothing really has happend.. all they did is shake hands and discussed about god knows what and now they expect us to just WAIT?

I'm starting to think blizzard is paying nostalrius to shut up about vanilla servers and thinking hopefully the whole story will be forgotten..

blizzard doesn't even have the gutt's to tell us straight on whats going on about the vanilla servers, they are probably telling nostalrius to explain more rubbish lies, because obviously the community will believe the creaters of nostalrius..

My thought is that you are not patient, and need to take off your tin foil hat. I also don't know what "lies" you are referring to, since Nost has not confirmed or denied that there would be any servers.

Take it easy there champ, you will have to wait like the rest of us, im not even sure they have decided themselfs (Blizzard), but we will most likely get a yey or ney @ Blizzcon this fall.

Seriously though, all nostalrius did was just walk into blizzard headquarters and probably didn't even ask if they could open the vanilla servers..

and all this problem going on through everyone's head thinking is nostalrius ever going to come back? i think this "vanilla server conclusion" is absolutely RIDICULOUS, and to think it is all about a vanilla server back in 2004.. you people are trully mad..

You need to be more patient.
I'm pretty sure we won't see any Classic-Realms in 2016, but we might hear more about it at Blizzcon.
Right now there is Overwatch, there's the movie and there's Legion coming up, so they will want to wait how things turn out before seriously considering Vanilla.


My guess is we will get some news at the next Blizzcon, and we will be seeing Legacy-Realms around 2017 Q2.


You shouldn't expect any news until blizzcon. So be a bit patient. If they don't say anything about Legacy-Realms at Blizzcon, I'm sure there will be another outcry which will give us some hints towards a yes or no.

You are welcome to roll on one of the other private vanilla servers out there.

Nostalrius is the ONLY private server project to do anything resembling building a productive relationship with Blizzard, and these things take time with a company that complex. If you are hell-bent on seeing something meaningful come out of this, I suggest you find something to stay busy while you wait.

Unfortunately Blizzard moves at a glacial pace. I think the soonest we can hope to hear official news on legacy servers is November 4th, the start of Blizzcon.

Honestly what I hoped for was that Nost would release code and some nost 2.0 with old database would come up after meeting. But it seems Blizz made a good job at making matter that hand as blurry as possible, hiding it behind some sort of false positive and Nost crew fell for that ( atleast thats the impression I get from meeting review, if you're bullshiting too so Blizzard don't catch your disobedience then kudos for you but I honestly have no means to tell what is true hehe, but I think Blizzard is bullshitting you, I dealth with enough people to tell that behind "sincere" smirks and manly handshakes they are thinking buisness ONLY, and Nost is a threat, they want this community to die and they will use leaders of this community to kill it) so I honestly don't have any expectations anymore.

P.S the non-disclosure thing that you didn't have to sign was for you to tell people how awesome they still are btw

The important part of Nostalrius was not the code, but the team behind it, and in that case they can improve the code quality themself already.
